Overdue review! Black Rabbit is one of my favourite restaurants and I will say their burger menu is the beat value in the entire Litchfield area for dining in or takeout. The burgers are enormous and delicious... side of sidewinder fries, and the value is unreal under 20 bucks. I dont think any restaurant or take out place beats the burger value.

Rest of the menu always has other great choices, extensive and fun specials menu every single day.
Great service, kitchen is always firing on all cylinders, never slow even when full house!
Cocktail programme is really good and the bar seems like a cool place to go for drinks, although we usually dine in or get takeout.

Shrimp tempura is always a go-to when dining in.

In fact, we have a reservation for dinner tonite! Now...which burger to get?

We found this great little hideaway on our way to NY and we’re so happy we returned 2 days later! Make sure to try the clam chowder or better yet go on Sunday for brunch! The owner is usually there and goes out of her way to make sure great food is served creatively, hot and in good sized portions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️

Excellent lunch stop! The food was great and service was quick and friendly. We had the Hot Honey Feta Spread, the Stella Spice, and a Patty Melt — everything came out fresh and tasty. Nice atmosphere and perfect for a casual meal. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Fantastic meal. Tomato basil bisque was outrageous. Mulled hot cider outstanding and hit the spot on a cold day. My husband’s salad was enormous and delicious. The lobster grilled cheese to die for. Friendly, attentive service. A must go…

We had a fabulous birthday lunch celebration for 20 people in July . Our server was so patient and helpful. We couldn't ask for better service! Having a full menu to choose from, everyone found a meal they desired and there were only smiles and high praise for feedback. All of us fit in a separate seating section so we felt like we had the place to ourselves.
Thank you Kendra and staff for a wonderful time.

The food here is good in a basic way. The old house is not fancy though has a good vibe. We sat at the bar. Menu has a wonderful diversity of options, and the wine list is good too.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while driving through Amenia and we now have a new absolute favorite. The food, everything was homemade and our kids finished their meals before we could even take a second bite. The staff was beyond friendly, it was clean, inviting and exceeded expectations. We look forward to going back and this is our new family favorite!

Best eatery in the NW Corner for informal dining. Lots of daily specials and time-tested menu items to choose from. Love the tavern atmosphere. A must-do if your visiting or residing in Lakeville/Salisbury.

Came back here with my partner after a year. Perhaps it was a one-off, but Black Rabbit has really seemed to have gone downhill. It was a shame. The hostess and main older waitress were visibly very stressed and passive-aggressive, which made us feel quite uncomfortable and unwelcome. The floor and bar weren't too busy, but the general vibe felt more like a sports pub than a nice sit-down meal. We ordered couple of cocktails which, were just ok. Then we ordered the shrimp tempura app which was 90 percent batter 10 percent shrimp. Perhaps the Black Rabbit is changing it ambiance from a sweet little eatery to a bit more of a greasy pub food vibe, if so, it's working. But I don't think we'll go back mainly due to the vibe of the hostess and waitress working there. It's not nice to go out to spend your money and enjoy your time when the people who are serving you are bubbling over with tension, passive aggressiveness and stress. We can sense it. It was very off putting.
