09/06/2025 Walked in with no reservation for 2 soon after open, no tables available. Understandable, it’s a late summer Friday night. Bar seating open, full dinner service. The woman bartender was gracious and accommodating. Great sushi and sashimi, old school cocktails done right. Agedashi tofu is one of my favorite snacks, so happy to see that it was on the menu. Lamb and steak poivre were absolutely delicious. Great wine selection. Although it’s an hour from home, I’ll gladly return. Happy to have found such an amazing spot.

This is a great spot in Lakeville that has been around forever! First came here 30 years ago - and my recent visits this year have been fantastic! Great menu with lots of choices, excellent drinks and beer/wine and the service is very helpful. And just love the space - make sure to sit in the bar!

Once again we had the most amazing dinner at Woodlands last night! From the warm welcome, the comfortable table, great staff and the menu always offers a broad selection and the specials were great- We loved our starters- Oysters on the half shell with great sauce options and the fried zucchini blossoms were luscious. Don't miss the soft shell crabs while they are available, the Cajun Tuna was a special and just delicious as was the Veal Milanese with a wonderfully fresh salad. The wine list is broad and well priced as are the wines by the glass- I enjoyed the Sancere. The desserts are always great but we were so full from our dinner last night that we had no room! Woodlands is our favorite restaurant in the Northwest corner of Connecticut.

Woodlands is the best! Amazing food coupled with great service make it a pleasure to dine there. Brandon has done a masterful job keeping the ambiance virtually unchanged (but I noticed tonight the banquets in the bar area have been beautifully recovered with new pillows). The menu is incredible: massive menu for a small restaurant…plus your serving size is wonderful! The vibe at dinner is always festive. Our family loves dining there. We have been patrons for years …and Brandon has made it even better than ever!!!

Finally time to write this review. In the last few years, we gotten takeout 12 or so times from The Woodland. And every time it is so spectacular, I already feel The Woodland is the #1 restaurant anywhere in the world. Last nite we finally got a rez and we dined in. The restaurant is so gorgeous inside, really rich and cozy. The menu is superb, the service top notch, the wine/beer/cocktail menu is extensive. I have never eaten at a restaurant this A+ And I have dined in Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico, Chicago, NYC, Vegas, LA, and this is really the best spot I have ever eaten! Each item is always delicious.

Nice decor, great service, and the food is really good. Fries are hot and crisp and the chongqing chicken is YUM — pretty sure the spiciest dish I’ve ever had in the state of CT. ? If you like tingly Sichuan peppercorns, you’re in for a treat.

What a wonderful place. I have one complaint. Ice cold butter. It’s very hard to smear cold butter on hot bread but I’ll deal with it! My husband has one complaint (besides the cold butter!) The music. Not suitable for a restaurant like this. Make reservations ahead of time or forget it.
