I love this old school tavern/bar. They renovated it recently, and the place has the same vibes but with some great updates. Food was delicious with great portions. Our bartender was super friendly. Definitely stop by and check out Old Well!

Me and my family would drive here every weekend for almost 2 years because it was our favorite restaurant. We would get the same order every time. My mom would get the French onion soup to start and a cheese burger with fries. My brother would get the Mac and cheese no tomatoes. My dad would get the boneless Texas Pete wings with ranch. I would get the boneless Gary wings with ranch and a basket of tater tots. After going there for a couple of months the staff memorized our whole order. One of the best parts about this place was the price. It was 60 bucks for all four of us. The cheap food was awesome, but me and my dad think the best part about the place was the chicken. The boneless chicken wings were spectacular. They never had any fat and best of all they were grilled. It wasn’t like anywhere else where they serve low quality fired chicken. The chicken being grilled was just so different and made it taste so much better than any other place. My family doesn’t call it “The tavern” or the “Old well” we called it “The chicken place” because of how good the grilled chicken was. The chicken place was something me and my dad looked forward to every weekend. My brother and mom aren’t as big of fans as me and my dad, but they still really like the food they get. Me and my dad went to the chicken place on December 28th which was the day before the old owners we loved gave it to the new owners who closed it for a couple of weeks for renovations. When the chicken place reopened we were on a family trip in Rhode Island so my dad asked one of his friends who lived in Simsbury who loved the boneless Texas Pete wings how it is and asked if they kept my favorite Gary wings on the menu. After my dad’s friend told me they no longer have Gary wings was the moment I knew I would probably never eat there again. A few days later the new owners realized that the Gary wings were still being asked for they posted that the Gary wings will now be available they just won’t be on the menu. I figured that this would mean that me and my family would begin to eat here again. That was until we learned that the chicken was no longer grilled. After me and my dad learned that the thing we loved most about the chicken place was gone we aren’t eating there unless they bring back their high quality not fatty grilled chicken. It was been a while since me and family has visited the chicken place and we plan on keeping it like that until the new owner of the Old Well Tavern realizes that most people came to the Old Well Tavern for the chicken and now that’s he’s changed the chicken he’s also changed a lot of peoples mind about there favorite restaurant.

Home town bar vibe. Service people are very friendly and welcoming. Food is mostly pub style but it's all excellent and very fairly priced. It's our go-to place in town.

I love the Old Well Tavern. It is a quintessential dive bar with reasonable service and tasty food. $5 for a domestic draft. Thursday night prime rib! Go here if you are looking for a locals spot to grab a beer and play a game of pool.
