Maybe it was just the night we visited, but the tacos are different than last year. The vampiro taco last year was a melty, cheesy delicious taco, one of the best I ever had, this year it’s just your standard street taco, not bad just not memorable. No chips, guac, or nachos anymore. I also miss the cocktails on tap. The vibes are still vibing though!

Really wanted to like you guys but:-Chips strange texture/stale and for $10 that price ridiculous.-Salsas were good. -Pork belly taco-hard meat and flavorlessChicken taco-didn't think kale/chickpeas matched flavor wise.Brisket-good taco Cabbage slaw-flavorless and strange consistency Drinks- missing something very bland overpriced $7+Chicken Rice bowl-ok but super spicy wasn't expecting that my child wouldn't eat it.For $70 I can't say I'll return.

Tacos are great. The chips are always pretty burned and no salt. The drinks (when they had them) just weren’t good. The menu didn’t match what you got and you had to mix yourself, which was odd IMO.Last year the drinks were bomb, even sold them at Doms, still remember the oaxcana! Not sure why the change.Go for the tacos and atmosphere, skip the chips and drinks.

This is a combined review with The Millright's Restaurant in Simsbury. 4 stars for service and presentation. In terms of the menu advertised as smoke house BBQ, I'd give it three stars since three of the five courses had no meat. We were expecting actual barbecue like you find in TN or TX or even in a few good spots here in CT which I've reviewed. We also did not realize we were being served from a food truck and not from the restaurant itself. However, that being noted, presentations of each course were all satisfying and rolled out at a timely pace considering almost every seat was sold out. The flavors of each dish were all nice even if not what is commonly considered barbecue. The menu should have emphasized all food items were smoked regardless of whether they were protein or vegetable. Another restaurant that does a monthly wine course dinner in Litchfield I've reviewed sends out the details of the menu before people decide to purchase. This is something TA-QUE should consider doing in the future. The cocktail/beer/wine pairing we purchased as an add-on option was worth the price and enjoyed. It took awhile to get the first drink as they waited for all the patrons to arrive, so some people used their phone scanner to order a drink from the restaurant bar that was brought out to them. A cocktail with tequila came with the first course, the next had Modelo beer with lime fresh from a tap, and the other three had wine - a Malbec with the tri tip, a riesling with the pork and a chardonnay with dessert.Unfortunately for my partner, he could not eat the first two courses because he can't eat seeds. The smoked parsnip soup came first in a bowl with a few chopped pieces of raw tuna inside covered with sesame seeds. The chef and staff then brought the soup down to everyone in thermoses and poured it over the tuna. I liked it a lot and ate both of our bowls since they weren't too large. Very tasty. The honeynut squash was tender but packed with a variety of seeds - pumpkin, sunflower and more. I couldn't eat two of those so we asked for a box to take one home. The third course, which touted cabbage grilled for hours and smoked pork marmalade served on top of it, was hard as a rock. Perhaps they should grill it for even more hours. The pork marmalade didn't do much for me so I gave most of my dish to my partner who was quite hungry after missing the first two servings. He liked it.The fourth and final course made by TA-QUE was Wagyu tri-tip with corn salsa verde. My partner can't eat corn either, so he scraped his off of his steak for me and I gave him a slice of mine since he was still hungry. Going through my photos later though it looks like the large trays brought to customers had some plates with a few slices of tri tip and some with a couple. Different portion sizes for men and women? I asked my partner about this later and he said he did notice he had more than me. I would have kept my other slice. It was smokey in flavor and well done in terms of doneness. The corn was crispy and flavorful. In terms of seating, diners at the picnic tables at the foot of the stairs get their food and drinks faster, but if you want the view of the waterfall and bridge which cost a little more it's worth the wait. Overall, it was a nice time, but expensive for the amount of food and not a success for us because of diet restrictions and not the barbecue we were expecting.

We finally visited TA-Que this summer and it was great. You couldn't ask for a better outdoor dining space, the staff is super friendly, and the food is great. We really enjoyed the tacos and the brisket bowl was very filling. However, overall we expected way more flavor from each dish. The drinks were very refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. I especially enjoyed my Aqua Fresca with a shot of tequila. All-in-all, I really enjoyed our visit and would like to visit again!

Foods probably good based on other ratings, but their business hours on Google aren't accurate. Call before you drive over

Visit this spot throughout the summer. Definitely stick to the tacos, the fish taco is one of the best I've ever had. Also love the mushroom chorizo and I like getting the nachos topped with it. The agua fresca is my go to and if it's been a long day is even better with a tequila shot in it. Views are perfect to have a relaxing dinner.

Ta-Que, how do I love thee... let me count the ways.. 1. The hot honey chicken taco special. It sang of fresh, real honey, with a back hit of heat. I honestly could have ate 13 of those chicken tendies on there. They paired it with pickle and their fresh, crunchy slaw and it was a slam dunk for me. 2. Vampiro, oh sweet, toasty, cheesy, beefy beautiful taco.. it's folded over and cheesy and crispy and I haven't even got to the brisket yet. These boys were smoking it right. Delicate and flavorful and everything you'd want 3. Fish taco, that malt powder turns this taco into a memorable bite. Perfectly crispy and fresh. 4. Sausage was really good I just would've rather had it on side. 6. Gringo taco.. almost perfect. It's like everything you want a Standard taco to be. It sent me into a fat girl shimmy that rivals all fat girl shimmies. 5. Street corn. It's one of my fav things and it's done correctly here. Smothered in sauce and flavor 6. The drinks.. margarita and agua Fresca. It was so bright and fresh w the perfect effervescence. 7. Service.. unmatched. They let the hubs peek at smoker and we even had a group hug to celebrate our delicious meal with a gentleman with an excellent dread of hair! Gal at counter was super friendly and noticed my husbands brisket and chill shirt and shaded him for not getting the brisket taco lol. We both laughed then added on the brisket taco. It was my second fav taco too. 8. Ambiance.. so cute, waterfall, brook, cute tiki umbrellas. I'm devastated I finally got to this place on the last week of their season. I'll be counting down the days until their next season.. until then, I love you Ta-Que

We decided to try this place after seeing the raving reviews for it on Tik Tok. The food was relatively flavorful and unique in its ingredients (the fried or roasted chickpeas and kale in the chicken rice bowl were tasty). The corn looked and tasted amazing. I'm knocking off a few stars just because I feel like it didn't live up to the hype. Their setup is nice (they give you a number after you order and deliver the food to your table), but the view isn't as scenic as I imagined it to be.

Came to check this place out after seeing raving reviews for it. Food ordered: Chips w/salsa & queso = 4/10 salsa lacked flavor & the cheese tasted like plain melted Velveeta cheese Vampiro Tacos = 7/10 Smoked Chicken Tacos = 4/10 very dry due to the fried chickpeas & fried kale Pork belly = 7/10 extremely greasy At $4.75 a taco & $14 chips w/salsa .... After spending almost $90 on 8 tacos, 3 sodas and bag of chips w/salsa... Needless to say we won't be returning. Overpriced for average food.

Loved the food we tried. On a hot day by the water if mosquitoes love to bite you it could be an issue to dine there. Delicious, tasty, flavorful! Will return to try other items. We had the brisket meat on our nachos, Fish taco, coleslaw and brisket bowl.
