Great hidden gem in South Windsor. Always fresh and really good service. Highly recommend for either take out or dining in. Prices are also very good.

This is my go to place for sushi, they have excellent lunch specials and the fish is always very fresh. The temperature profile of the sushi a la cart options are exceptional. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Service is SLOW if a lazy 2 hr dinner excites you this is the place for you. Food is OK, but after waiting 45 min for your food you’ll eat just about anything!

Was craving sushi and Higashi delivered some delicious sushi. I ordered the cucumber roll and red dragon roll, fantastic. Miso soup and peppered steak was also good. To top it all off with dessert, the cheesecake was delicious also. Would have taken pics, but I was hungry. Spent about $50 even just for myself. Definitely recommend

Smaller restaurant (totally fine). We went as a family of 6 (2 adults 4 kids under 10, who happen to like sushi). We were sat quickly, the restaurant wasn't busy. The restaurant atmosphere is unpretentious and simple, seems clean and it's quaint.
The place got 4.5 star review so I had high expectations which is a standard for me when looking up sushi places. We ordered 10 rolls, and two chicken dinners (teriyaki and General Tso). The chicken dinners were great, the miso soup- yum! 5 stars for those dinners as they were tasty and well cooked and would order something like that again here.
The sushi wasn't the best I've had but it wasn't the worst. We tend to order raw sushi so, it just has to be excellent imo. I don't know if the fish wasn't super fresh, or maybe the cucumber or avocado but something wasn't hitting the mark and I can't say that id go back for round two of sushi here.

We love this place for dine in and take out. The foot is delicious and the service is outstanding. Definitely recommend!
Food quality has dropped dramatically, don't know how long this has been going on. We've always loved this place but just ordered sushi for the first time in a year or two and all of the spicy rolls I got were greasy garbage. There was almost no visible protein in the mix which leaves the majority of what you're eating to be oil soaked panko breadcrumb mash.

My first order from Higashi and the food was very tasty. I wish I had gotten something that identified the sushis that were in the "Sushi Beginner", as there were several that I didn't recognize. My partner had Pork Gyoza, Chicken Tatsuta Age, and Beef Yakesoba. It was "all very good".

I went here by myself to dine in the other day and had a great experience. Service was fast and everyone in the restaurant was extremely kind. I got the sushi and definitely enjoyed it a lot. You get a pretty good bang for your buck with the sushi dinners considering they come with a good amount of sushi plus a soup AND salad. Overall, I appreciate the courteous staff and delicious food! :)

After trying out most of the local sushi spots, Higashi is the one I keep returning to. Their Super Cute roll is my absolute favorite, but I'm also a huge fan of their Boston roll. The Boston is nothing like the other local places though, which almost always have mayonnaise, where as this one has no mayo but adds tamagoyaki??? Which is weird but oh so wonderful. If you've never tried tanagoyaki, it can be a little surprising and strange at first because it's sort of a sweetened egg omelette but it's honestly SO good if you're feeling somewhat adventurous. The pork gyoza and kani salad are also excellent!
