Take a step back in time, before Ray Krok, Dave Thomas, and BK forever altered our expectations about how many seconds should elapse between the time we give our order, and the time our food is ready. Once upon a time, this is how food was prepared. No rush. If you can accept that, then you, too, can enjoy the food, can savor the experience, of eating at Dicksons.Parking: Not busy when we were there. Probably not busy when you read this. The rush is coming, just not yet.

I stopped in for some ice cream. I ended up getting a banana split sundae. It was delicious! I got it with vanilla, strawberry and coffee ice cream.Lelaine (spelling) a.k.a. “La-la” made it for me. It was a piece of art…seriously! Check out the picture I took of it. She is super friendly and conscientious of her customers. What struck me was how good the pineapple “sauce” was. It tasted like actual crushed pineapple. It wasn’t actually sauce. Just crushed pineapple. Waaaaay better than the usual stuff. The Strawberry ice cream had decent sized chunks of berries in it. The coffee was delicious and so was the Vanilla.I loved the ice cream, I loved the interaction with both “La-la” and the nice lady that ownes the place. I sat at a clean picnic table. It was very relaxing.I almost passed this place because it faces sideways from the road so it didn’t jump out at me. It’s in the same building as a laundromat. I just happened to spot the sign on the building. Maybe a big sandwich board that says “Ice Cream!” Would help passing potential customers. They also offer hotdogs, hamburgers and breakfast! I highly recommend this place.

Update: came in for an ice cream late at night (an hour before closing) and was told she just shut off the ice cream machine. Darn. Just as I was leaving she was still gave me a pup cup even though I didn’t purchase anything. :) my dog was over the moon for the pup cups here.Awesome place for a breakfast sandwich. Got the sausage breakfast sandwich and it was very filling. I also ordered the chili dog which was delicious. (No beans in the chili was a bonus) My dog enjoyed a nice pup cup. The cost of our food was ~$9, way better breakfast sandwiches than Dunkin’ Donuts. There is outdoor seating with umbrellas and plenty of parking.

It's not bad at all. A nice little side stand. Fun spot to stop at.

Very simple place, limited ice cream menu. I asked for Snickers, they were out. They had basic flavors so keep that in mind when going.

Very simple place with real people owning and working there, nice vintage feel of how things used to be back in the day. Great food and even better ice cream, support a small business and even better to support the ones that do it right
