The restaurant was very busy and we had to wait almost an hour for our food. The food was lukewarm when it arrived. The kitchen also forgot to provide our appetizers. This message is more for the management-then other customers- perhaps you are short staffed but the setting is wonderful, the staff helpful and the food has been good on past occasions- please fix these kitchen/service problems.

My main entree was the special of the day whole belly clams I told my server they had too much breading. I had to pull it off to taste the clam. The dessert key lime pie was delicious.

Great spot directly on the water. Lots of umbrellas for outside tables. Also outside tables in the shade. Wait staff very friendly and efficient.

Since the reviews were good, my wife and I decided to try Breakwater for dinner. We were also told by a local business owner that the lobster rolls were the best around. Our waitress (Kris) was extremely friendly and helpful guiding us through our food questions. I chose the lobster roll and my wife had the swordfish. Both of these entrees were exceptional. We may need to go back again before we continue our New England touring!

First, our server was awesome! We loved the mocktail and n/a beer selections. My husband got the Snapper entree and he said it was good. I only wanted some lobster with butter and asparagus and our server accommodated. My lobster was good but my asparagus was gross. I'm rating food mediocre, with potential. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness- someone needs to use a bucket with hot soapy water and large sponge to scrub it down, after a good dusting. When we were seated, our table was not wiped down and the woman's bathroom was gross (no idea about the men's). A good cleanup would be good.

Food was just delicious! Mushroom crostini had so much flavor. Scallops could have been a little more tender but linguini was cooked perfectly and sauce was flavorful but not too rich. Key lime pie had amazing flavor! Beautiful setting and terrific service. Highly recommended!

Loved the grilled seafood. It came with a coconut rice side that was only moderately interesting. The squash soup was fabulous. There is a wonderful discount for seniors on Thursday nights.

Had family in from out of town and wanted to enjoy. a nice NE seafood meal. There are some very high end places and the fried seafood shacks in the area but this seemed like a nice middle ground. When we were seated i looked at the menu and actually got a little scared because the prices were so reasonable, I thought maybe the quality wouldn’t be the best. So happy to be wrong!!! Everything was excellent we enjoyed the seafood pasta dishes, the price fixe menu, lobster bisque, clam chowder, and fish and chips. All of it was cooked to perfection. I have paid much much more for similar types of meals and ended up with rubbery overcooked scallops and calamari. I’m telling you everything here was just great we were all so pleased. Our server Daniel was lovely. Ambiance and view are nice as well. We’ll be back.
