My parents and I traveled over two hours to visit S&P this afternoon for my birthday dinner. We had reservations ahead of time, parked easily with valet, and were seated right away outside at the best table on their patio, which overlooked the water. The patio area is beautiful, mindfully decorated, clean, and surrounded by beautiful flowers. It's a delight to watch the boats going by on the water while you eat!
The menu offers a wide variety of options (gluten free and vegan too!) and the dishes are exciting and interesting. There is something for everyone.
All of the staff that helped us was wonderful, but I would like to give a special thanks to our server, Jonathan - he made our experience really special with his warm presence, humor, and kindness. He is incredible at his job and has a unique confidence that radiated around the patio. I hope management sees this and passes the message along.
We will be back!! Thank you!!

OK, so it was summer and I did not expect everything to be perfect considering that Mystic was jammin with people and it is a tourist trap. But I was very disappointed in this place.
We sat down outside and had beautiful views of the river. That was the best part.
Our waiter, was a big problem and did not understand anything about being professional. On several occasions, he was rude and made inappropriate comments. I’ll elaborate further in a moment.
I ordered a salad because I’m not really into seafood however it should still be good, right?
Nope.
The salad was shamefully small and nothing special. Some iceberg lettuce thrown on a plate with a couple of small blue cheese crumbles, a few pieces of bacon and maybe six croutons from a box. There was one small piece of grilled chicken that was sliced into three individual pieces, but it was tiny. This was just not restaurant quality at all.
The blue cheese potatoes were nothing special and we even had to pay for bread. Get that? We had to pay for bread and butter. This is shameful.
The one good thing was my wide’s Salmon which she said was very good. It was prepared well and the mash potatoes looked good too.
*** Now the waiter. He never told us about the house specials. So we missed out on dishes we would have enjoyed. He rushed out our dinner and was rude on several occasions, and when we sort of complained actually blamed us for ordering too fast as the reason he never told us the specials. To that he made a comment that
“Why worry about the specials. It looks like you ate everything!” And then said “we don’t know how to eat”. 😣
$120 and I left hungry and frustrated with the service. I’ll pass on this place next time.
I think you need to consider places like this during peak summer time as they rush customers, have small portions and often hire less than qualified wait staff and push them to exhaustion. Our waiter needed to learn how to treat customers and be accountable.
I hope this helps.

Food was wonderful, but the service was mediocre at best. We waited for someone to take our drink order. We waited for someone to take our appetizer order. We waited for someone to take our main order. We waited for someone to take our dessert order (and then we gave up). We waited for someone to pick up or credit card so we could leave. And they were not that busy! They just weren't that worried about the corner table. We won't be coming back.

Our first time in Mystic and S&P came highly recommended. Besides the heat, we had a wonderful dining experience. The host and server (Ryan) were amazing. We waited for the patio to open because it would have been a 2.5 hour wait for a table indoors. If you’d like to eat inside, you should definitely make a reservation (it would have been preferable since it was so hot outside but we still enjoyed the patio setting and close proximity to the drawbridge — we loved watching the boats sail by as we ate). Overall, the food was delicious. We started with their Thai Calamari which was exceptional (top tier) — best we’ve ever had! Their Crispy Seafood Platter and Chicken Yucatán were also very good (risotto tasted even better the next day). I was a bit disappointed by the Lobster Ravioli — I called and expressed my concerns to Jeremy (manager) and he was very considerate and resolved the issue in a timely manner. Very pleased with how he handled everything. We didn’t have room for dessert, maybe next time. If you’re in Mystic or planning a trip, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at this fine establishment — the location, service, ambiance, and food cannot be beat!

Fantastic experience! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys quality meals. Our server TJ was phenomenal. He was extremely attentive, friendly, funny, and quick with his service. Everything he recommended was scrumptious from drinks all the way to desserts.

Top notch, as always. Reservations recommended for this place. We’ve dinned outside as well as inside on both floors and it’s always enjoyable. The second floor by the river has the best views, so that’s our favorite to book. The drinks are well done, and all the food we’ve had has been terrific. The calamari is always soft and tender, never had a rubbery texture. They do have sandwiches, but I’d love it if they ever had a fish sandwich… their fried cod is great.
