The food was creative and reasonably priced. Our server was very nice, and the noise level not too high.
This review is long overdue! A few weeks ago we traveled from Fairfield up to the casino for two nights. Desperately trying to find some decently healthy food, I luckily discovered whitecrest... my two boys and I headed there for dinner where we met Abbey and her amazing staff and had the BEST and SEED OIL free meal. The chicken cordonblue was sooooo amazing. The Brussels sprouts, everything really. Abbey gave me a loaf of sourdough to try and it was such a nice break from making my own sourdough to actually be able to enjoy a loaf without the work. I kept telling her we'd be back the next day (it was about a 30 min drive from the casino) I took some pannacotta (spelling?) to go for my sister and brother in law to try who were also staying at the casino.. one bite of it and they decided they'd come back with us the next day haha. We spent the next day exploring the velvet mill and while we sipped some beer from the brewery, we ate SOURDOUGH pizza from back door pizza (which abbey also owns) and wow. I wish I lived closer because I would venture back weekly. The pizza was so so good. We ended up BACK at whitecrest for dinner where again, everything was out of this world. Homemade cheesecake ice cream. I literally dream of it daily.
I recommended both places to my girlfriend who took her kids to mystic yesterday. They did pizza for lunch at backdoor- went to mystic aquarium and then back to whitecrest for dinner! She was impressed and told me she wishes they lived closer too. Anytime I am within an hour distance, I will be back! Hahaha. Drooling thinking about it until then. Abbey (and husband who I haven't met but wow what an amazing chef) THANK YOU š for two wonderful and guilt free places for our family to eat. Hoping more places are inspired and start being seed oil free. Thank you thank you!
Some of the best food I've found in CT. I travel far to eat here. I have a severe gluten allergy and while nothing on the menu is labeled gluten free, the staff is always very helpful in letting me know what I can safely eat. Small menu that changes every time I go, and a place I return to over and over again. Thanks Whitecrest!
Where else can you have a leisurely gourmet meal while your kids hang play right nearby in a safe and family friendly atmosphere? I honestly donāt know! Thank you to Whitecrest for an amazing Friday night dinner. The food was incredible, as anticipated. Between the 7 of us we ordered and enjoyed everything from tallow fries, Brussels sprouts and bread&butter (an experience all by itself!), to burgers, cacio e pepe, bone marrow crostini, crab cakes and steak & potatoes, followed up with their blueberry cheesecake ice cream. The quality of the food was impeccable, the staff (including the owner who was kind enough to come say hi) were kind, attentive and patient. All this while we sat on āthe patioā under the bistro lights while our kids played with other children in the safety of the Velvet Mill. Thank you Whitecrest Eatery for a fabulous dinner and perfect parentās night out, no babysitter necessary!
Food is incredible, service is warm and friendly. Happy hour, and burger night offer killer deals as well. Couldnāt recommend more highly.
I had a burger with bacon and blue cheese, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Also had a coffee, came in a French press, all around top notch food in a quirky warehouse with lots of shops and a brewery - wish I lived closer, I would be there all the time
Wife and I stumbled across this place while visiting the Velvet Mill. I found my new favorite restaurant. Such a great little spot with amazing food and drinks.
Have walked by this place for many years in velvet mill and I have no idea why weāve never gone in for a meal. We went during their Wanderlust world food tour series in the winter. What an awesome experience! Their staff are amazing and knowledgeable, the food was ridiculously outstanding, and what a great experience.
Each dish is a delight. Quality, local ingredients and amazing execution. Always a delightful experience and never disappoints.
Wonderful dinner. The food was delicious, service attentive and very enjoyable atmosphere

If youāre reading this get in your car and go to this little hidden gem. The gnocchi was incredible and so was the strip steak. The sourdough bread was the perfect start with a humble salad with a perfect lemon vinaigrette. Every item was beyond my expectation. Love the different classic china plates. Whole building has a cool feel. Got to chat with the owner and the staff was engaged and all over our needs. I only went because I saw the 4.7 stars and we wanted a new place to try. Will be back without question.
