The Zest team is incredible to work with. We were navigating some dietary restrictions (Gluten Free, Dairy Free, etc.), and Gabriella was incredibly patient answering all of our questions. Their communication was top notch. The on-the-go tasting still involved a conversation with Gabriella at their shop, and it was informative without feeling pressured or sales-pitchy. It was a fun experience that allowed me and my husband to have a fun little picnic and taste all the yummy items.

The options available for cakes and desserts is truly incredible. There's something for every taste preference.

Some highlights: The gluten free chocolate cake was incredible. The regular chocolate was also ROCKIN' with the chocolate mousse. The red velvet was moist and the cream cheese filling had a great zing to it. The chocolate sea salt caramel tarts were a major crowd pleaser (one guest said they could die happy because they had eaten it, and it was the best thing they've ever tasted). The s'mores cookies are so unique, and the mini whoopie pies are such a fun whimsical treat. The chocolate covered strawberries also received five star reviews across the board.

Beyond taste, the team brought our vision for the cake to life. They nailed the Lambeth design from our inspo pics!

Delivery was seamless on our end as well.

Our biggest regret of the wedding is only getting a few bites of cake! We will be coming back for anniversaries to come to get some treats.

Very disappointed with the service and quality of this place. It used to be good. I am unsure why things went downhill. Maybe it was just an unlucky visit.

Zesty is a bit pricey, what isn't these days, but absolutely worth. I especially like when they go creative with scones😊

The gluten free offerings are outstanding! I bought the lemon tea cake and the raspberry basque coffee cake. Textures and flavors were excellent. There were several more items that I'll be back for.
The young lady who waited on me was friendly and efficient.
There's some cool seating areas so you can enjoy a coffee and a treat there if you'd like.

I used to go here for gluten free brownies which were always yummy. Last few visits I have paid full price for stale/rock hard brownies which is disappointing as they are hard to eat, less flavorful and just not worth the money. I had hoped first time was a fluke.

This was my second time getting coffee and pastries from Zest, and I’ve gotta say, their nitro cold brew is pretty tasty, especially if you get some peppermint mocha flavor shots added to it. It’s busy on holiday weekends, so prepare for 5-15 mins wait times.

Zest is one of if not THE best gluten free baked goods stops on the shoreline. They always have multiple options for GF so you feel like a regular person with options. Most places have that “one cupcake” or “one cookie” - here you actually get to decide what you’re in the mood for! And they are DELICIOUS.

Gabriella and the rest of the team at Zest Bakery did an excellent job with our wedding cake and desserts! From our wedding cake, to the sheet cake, to whoopie pies, cookies, brownies, and other desserts, they ensured that the selection of sweets at our wedding was not only visually appealing, but exquisitely flavorful, which left all our guests satisfied. I’d be remiss not to mention how carefully they decorated the scale patterns on our cake, and how closely they matched the artistic vision we had for it. Cannot recommend this bakery enough for weddings or any other large events. If ordering a cake, be sure to check out their champagne cake! We got this with strawberry mousse and chocolate cake with mascarpone filling and vanilla buttercream, and would highly recommend those to any prospective wedding customers.

Zest Fresh Pastry is an outstanding bakery. We love stopping by on the weekends. There’s sometimes a wait, but it’s definitely worth it for their cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches or crepes. When it came time to choosing a bakery for our wedding cake, Zest definitely delivered. Working with Gabriella was great - she was super responsive and created a beautiful and flavorful cake. Several of our guests said it was the best wedding cake they’d ever had! I highly recommend Zest for all your baked good needs!!

For our wedding in July 2024 at the Inn at Mystic, neither my husband nor I were set on getting a cake. My mom insisted and we set out to search for a bakery. Zest Fresh Pastry came highly recommended by our venue and when we spoke with them, they said they bring a cake there pretty much every weekend (sometimes multiple times a weekend!) during wedding season. I wanted a simple two layer cake that we could have our florist add some flowers to. We also did a sheet cake as backup for the guests! Our guests raved about the cake and I'm so happy we ended up getting one. Would definitely recommend!
