I don’t want to say I don’t recommend Tony’s as I have been going there for 20+ years but I was highly disappointed with my experience this morning. I went in at 6 to get coffee and doughnuts for my husband’s shop. I asked for 2 dozen and was told no because I didn’t preorder 24 hours in advance. I asked how you are supposed to preorder when the number for Tony’s listed online is not in service. You are supposed to go there because “we don’t answer the phones if we have customers”. I was kind of mind blown, but took the dozen and a box of Joe then went to Dunkin for the second dozen. I was so frustrated I didn’t even realize until I got to my husband’s shop they never even gave me the cups/creamer/sugars for the box of Joe.

This place is amazing! I moved out of CT a few years ago and when i come back to visit family i am always sure to stop be here! (:
I go here for a bagel from time to time and I like the bagels that they have. The reason I gave 4 stars for service is that I felt like with 4 or 5 people behind the counter, coffees, donuts and bagels should have been coming out much faster then they do. Its not really a complaint as much as it is an observation that im pretty much pushed into thinking about while I wait.

Great place to stop and get 1 or two bagels but horrible at answering their phones. If you plan to call an order in ahead of time, especially for the holidays just try some place else. I called a total of 4 times days before I needed a good amount of bagels and when I went the day of to just order them I was told by the women to "try calling between 12 and 2" when they aren't busy. If your that busy out someone directly on the phone.

Tried this place one more time after my previous experience wasn’t great but it was busy. This time I was the only person in the room and they were still absolutely miserable! No smile, seemed irritated that I was even there. I’d rather drive to Waterbury to get an amis then have to stand in front of these miserable people again. Save your money and time!!!
