My mother worked here for many years, and when someone in the family requires hospital care, this is where we go. It has changed over the years, with a lot of new construction and modernization, The biggest change is the parking garage, which is a huge improvement over the choice between the always full lot and on-street parking. It's odd visiting friends and family and not seeing at least one person I knew; whether nursing staff, dietary, or from one of the many departments that provide care. Admittedly, all of my Mom's friends would be retired by now (as would many of the people my age), and not living in the area for two decades reduced my contact with the hospital. However, it seems that the same level of care is given regardless of whether you have an 'in' or not. If I still lived in the Bridgeport area, this is the hospital I would try to go to if I needed care.

This place is a mess ! They left my son sitting in the waiting room for hours . I explained to them I can get a nurse to come to the house for simple zofran and Toradol in an IV . I'm here because I need a CT scan to rule out appendicitis!! Beware !! go somewhere else because there is zero sense of urgency here .

Very rude nurse. Went in for Covid test prior to a procedure. Had been there two weeks prior for first procedure was given the test without an issue. This time after waiting one hour they told me I couldn't have the quick test. Two weeks prior there was no issue, the nurse even told me that I hadn't been at the same facility which I was. I may be old but I knew where I had been. She walked out on me! Another nurse came in and gave me the test without an issue. Don't think I would head back there

Don't know how they sleep at night. Released an elderly mentally ill patient at night, while broadcasting her medical records so she can't get any assistance for days.

Pitiful excuse for a hospital. Urgent care is actually better than this hell hole. I have been in here with an esophageal ulcer and they prescribed me antibiotics that made it 100 times worse and long story short I lost 30 pounds in 10 days because I couldn't eat or even drink water for a week and had to be hooked up to an IV. Fast forward 2 years and my sister wakes me up at 2:30am with extreme back pain and there is not a person in sight but the medical staff up front. In visible pain they told her to wait somewhere else because her crying in the front was a bad look for them as we sat here for an hour waiting for them to "get a room for us". I had previously had a kidney stone and was at another hospital and they immediately took me in at 12pm gave me an IV drop with morphine to get me comfortable and then started looking for what's wrong. This place is a** backwards and looks for the problem first and let's you suffer until they find something wrong. DO NOT GO HERE OR YOU WILL BE IN TERRIBLE PAIN! I attached photos of how empty the place is and they have made us wait for this long

I went to the ER at St. Vs on 12/25/1 we arrived at around 730 pm. I have had a terrible cough for 5 days at this point, when we arrived they did a rapid covid which came back neg, so they did a PCR and strep test which both came back negative. I received these results in the waiting area, I was still not in a room. Finally at about 1045pm I was roomed and Dr. O came in said that since my tests are negative I was fine, she didnt do an exam, she didnt listen to my lungs or check my throat. She sent me home with out a proper exam all because my covid test was negative. I am 13 weeks pregnant and cant take any cough medicine or many otc remedies that would normally help, I asked if she could rule out bronchitis or pneumonia and she reiterated that my covid was negative that I should just be grateful for that, she then asked if I have had nausea, I said really bad since day 1 of my pregnancy so she sent me zofran to the pharmacy and I didnt ask for that. I asked to be checked out because I have been sick for 5 days and it was getting worse, and being pregnant made it even scarier. I understand the pandemic is taking a toll on our medical field professionals, I was more than happy to wait because I knew I would see a Dr that would help me understand what is wrong, instead I got brushed off and sent home because I dont have covid. -Rebecca Velez

On Aug 21 , 2021 I took a friend of mine to the St V's ER. We got there about 3:30 PM . According to their web site there was only a 12 minute wait. My friend signed in and they told us to wait by the TV's . We sat there for awhile while 3 other patients went into the exam rooms . We sat patiently for about an hour and a half ( 90 minutes) and seeing at least 6 or 8 other patients go into the exam rooms .I finally went up to the desk and asked when they thought my friend would be seen by a doctor . They said when a bed becomes available . We waited another 60 minutes finally a women come into the waiting room and called my friends name . We asked why it took 2 .5 hours to get registered and to be brought to an exam rooms, The women said she couldn't find us . I said we were sitting right here for 2.5 hours . Then at the exam room we waited for a doctor another 30 minutes , which was reasonable . While we waited I was watching the activity at the nurses station I noticed a man in a white smock drifting around hanging by the computers finally another 20 minutes or so the same guy comes into the exam room and tells us his the Dr. . He orders blood work and a cat scan . I left and went home until my friend called me to be picked up. 2.5 hours wait just because the women said she couldn't find us and we were sitting right where they told us to go 20 feet away from them .

Dr. Christopher Janoweicki of St. Venincent's Hospital/Bridgeport, CT is a highly informative and compassionate physician. He answers your questions honestly and speaks to his patients with a great deal of knowledg based on the *evidence. I had the privilege of having an in-depth discussion with Dr. Janoweicki and we met with my Dad as well (he had the difficult task of relaying some most unfortunate news which he achieved delicately). I then asked the doctor in the Hospital hallway, if I could please see results of my Dad's CT-scan. Without hesitation, he showed me the images from his hand-held device. I felt so comfortable with "Dr. J." that I had ultimately asked him, "If this were YOUR Dad what course of action would you take medically?" And he replied, "MY Dad??" And I said, "Yes" - and then he answered the question with precisely that potential scenario in mind. I believe that Dr. Janoweicki is an extraordinary physician/man. IF I could I would give him 10 stars. What a difference a physician such as he makes to a Family facing severe medical challenges. Thanks "Dr. J." (I can finally pronnounce your name. It took me a day.. ) Best, Andrea LoCascio (Richard's daughter)

I had a lymph nodes biopsy scheduled at St. Vincent's on 86th Street. I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment. I was sent to one waiting room before being sent to another waiting room. I was told to register on my phone, but was not able to submit it. I was sent to the basement where my procedure was to take place. I arrived at my appointment time. I waited and waited. I have now been sitting here for an hour. I should have scheduled this at IU.

I would send no one I cared about to this emergency room! I had to take my husband there because our Insurace would not approve and outside facility for a Ct Scan, and Dr did not want to go the weekend not knowing if there was a serious problem so I had to take my husband there for a possible PE blot clot in his lungs on Friday 2/26 @ 1:30pm after waiting in 3 different waiting areas they finally did a CT scan and blood work, at 6:30pm. Took him back to his space where they finally hooked up blood pressure cuff and gave a breathing treatment. Now its 10:30p.m. still no word, so I called ER desk asking if someone could help, I was told "does he have a cell phone? then call an ask him!" Really 9 hours later and I'm waiting at home and no one knows anything! This is unaceptable, I understnd that things are difficult now, and its not all about me or my husband, but 9 hours, 5 of which were spent moving from waiting room to waiting room. This is a disgrace, especially since no one had been in his room from 6:30 till 11:00pm(4 1/2) hours, to finally tell him they were discharging him! My heart goes out to the elderly who have to drop a love one off, and has to sit and wait with no contact. Again absolute disgrace!

This is a very caring hospital. Nurses are very special people. Last year I had hip replacement. I have also had other surgery in the last five years. One additional orthopedic. And 3 non elective. In all cases the staff could not have done any better.

Sketchy place this St. Vincent's urgent care. A friend had to see a Dr and the receptionist insisted there was patient ahead of him. There is one way in and one way out. One and half hours later no one left the facility and no one walked in. The receptionist is extremely rude and has no business being front and center of the public. They are rude and it's a chatty little hang out fir these people on the weekend. There reviews here speak volumes! Go to Monroe or anywhere but this location!

This place is a joke. Always have been, always will be. I took my son there yesterday with a bad rash all over his body. Instead of letting him in they thought a telehealth that would be better. I showed the PA his rash and she said it was fine. A little while later I took him to Fairfield urgent care (where we usually go) and they gave him a culture and it was steep throat! Now what if this had gone undiagnosed?? As health care professionals their first priority should be the well being of their patients. This isn't the first time this had happened here but it will definitely be the last. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Wish I can give them zero stars

Receptionist is extremely rude. For a place that should be patient focused - they might want some lessons on customer service.

Please do not send anyone to this location, horrible staff. Treat people like they should kill themselves.
