They even delivered to the venue! I used reference photos and inquired about flavors. Alyssa recommended flavor combinations between frosting and cake and was opening to suggestions. I could not have asked for anything better!! My cake came out exactly how I envisioned. Taste was phenomenal and moist and guests were complimenting throughout the reception.

I am highly disappointed with Alyssa’s Cakery. This was my first time ordering with them as I like to support a local businesses whenever I can. I ordered a cake online on Friday for a 60th birthday party the following Saturday. I called the next day to confirm my order because I didn’t get any type of confirmation email. They confirmed my order and said someone would reach out to me to obtain details and finalize pricing. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays so I didn’t expect to get a call, but then Wednesday and Thursday came and went and I had not received any type of update and since they close at 2pm I did not have a chance to call them because I was at work. So on Friday morning ( the day before the party) I call to let them know I hadn’t heard anything from anyone. The manager gets on the phone and proceeds to tell me that they attempted to email me but got a bounce back email and had the audacity to say I should have reached out to them sooner. As a result, she said that the earliest they could have a cake done for me is the following Tuesday, which they are closed on Tuesdays so she really meant Wednesday. The cake was for a 60th birthday the next day so Wednesday was not going to work! At this point I was frustrated and lost my temper a bit, but I want to be very clear my order was confirmed for a week at this point. There was no effort to rectify the situation, no apology, nothing. I was excited to try this establishment as I would love to have a go-to place for celebratory cakes, but unfortunately my first experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating to say the least. Luckily, I was able to find another local bakery that was able to accommodate a rush order for me.

If you have allergies or celiac, stay far away! The cake was decorated nice, tasted okay although frosting was a bit too sweet! It was also pricy at $70 for a small round cake. We ordered a gluten free cake and were assured that they’d do everything possible to avoid cross contamination. That clearly didn’t happen! My celiac daughter has been very sick after eating this cake! If you have allergies/celiac, bake your own cake or go to another bakery that can truly accommodate!
