Kouign, a pastry from France that is worthy of royalty is also a local gem in Wallingford! This bakery delivers the absolute best. The owner can be seen legitimately in the back working away to produce some of the best pastries I've ever had. Croissants that are light and buttery with crunch on the outside and are soft on the inside. The cinnamon rolls are an addiction in themselves alone, the cookies - perfect. Her talent as a baker is something I have never seen in my life...
Just wow. One pastry was better than the next. We went early Saturday morning just after 8:00 and it wasn't busy. The cases were full and they were still bringing more freshly baked pastries about of the back. I got a box with a classic Cinnabon, chocolate croissant, guava and cheese croissant, ham and cheese croissant, and coffee cake muffin. Everything was absolutely delicious. Delicious pastries! My wife loved her guava cheese croissant. Sadly she did not get to try the toffee chocolate chip cookie I bought for her, but rumor says it was amazing. Everything looked so tasty, will definitely return to try other things!
