Last week was my first time at Loose Leaf in Wallingford and I had a few questions about the drinks, etc. i spoke with a worker named Lydia, she was so helpful answering all my questions, super friendly and in general just very nice and welcoming, she really made the experience. The tea was good too!

Their product is really good when done properly. However, management and service is really poor. I‘ve given this place multiple chances and the result is never the same. I tend to like my Boba milk without ice because then I feel like I can actually enjoy the tapioca pearls on the bottom. I also believe, in general, that ice waters down a drink. They have a policy where the ice is „part of the recipe“ and they charge $0.50 for extra milk or water to fill the cup, otherwise you only get 3/4 of a cup, which was fine with me. Filling the cup is completely optional, but even the employees don’t know the policy and automatically charge if you don’t mention it or say it is required and you have to remind them of their own policy. But if you order it with no ice without the extra milk, be prepared to still get an underwhelming result. Only once was the drink properly shaken and ingredients mixed when I figured out how to properly order. The employee that did this was really nice and really seemed to take pride in customer service. The other times, they put the ingredients in the cup and tell me, „make sure you shake and stir it before you drink,“ which I thought was part of the preparation of the product. Every other place I have gone, even when I ask for no ice, not only do they not charge extra, they also shake the drink like any other boba milk. It’s a tremendous shame. I would rather get a good boba experience 100% of the time elsewhere than get a great boba experience 50% of the time at Loose Leaf and a subpar experience the other 50% of the time.

Drinks are below average. I’m certain of taste of fish in everything that’s not a fish. Very pricey

Visiting Connecticut for a few days, and found this boba shop. I immediately wanted to go because the matcha looked really good. I wasn’t wrong, the 20 min to get here was worth it because the drinks are very high quality. The strawberry matcha is really great, fresh strawberry syrup with bits of strawberry seeds, the matcha was nice quality, just a bit too thick of a drink. Maybe from the oat milk. They have lots of nice looking drinks and poké!

Loose Leaf Boba is my go-to for my frequent tea and Vietnamese coffee fixes. I'm happy to have a quality option located just down the street from me, and it would easily receive a 5-star rating if the drinks were made consistently. The diversity in the menu caters to a myriad of taste preferences, from fruit and herbal teas to creative drinks like bananas foster and matchacado. My usual pick is the Strawberry Matcha Latte, adjusted to 25% sweet with oat milk. The inspiration for this drink is drawn from Boba Guys in California (the CA locations are much better than the NYC ones). It's a delightful concoction when it's made correctly, but I've noticed that not all the workers measure out the drink recipes meticulously (Eyeballing the strawberry puree straight into the cup instead of measuring it. I understand it can be tedious doing this over and over, though). The result - an occasional inconsistency in taste and texture, with the strawberry purée making it too thick and overwhelming the delicate matcha. I usually end up adjusting it at home by adding my own oat milk and matcha to balance the strawberry. On the flip side, the Vietnamese coffee is always a hit - robust, flavorful, and a testament to the authenticity Loose Leaf Boba Co brings to the table. Another of my frequent orders is the Assam Black Tea, modified to 50% sweet, accompanied by herbal grass jelly and salty cheese foam. The staff is friendly and the place is clean, perfect for a casual hangout. It's a place that warrants frequent visits and would indeed hit the 5-star mark with a bit more attention to detail and consistency in preparing the drinks. If you're around and in need of a good, refreshing drink, Loose Leaf Boba Co is definitely worth a stop! :)

I love Loose Leaf Boba Co. in Wallingford. I get my boba fix every week here since they opened. They conveniently share the space with Pokemoto too if you are looking for a bit to eat, but let's talk tea! They have fresh pressed tea, milk tea, matcha, Vietnamese coffee, and an Inspired Menu. Each drink on the Inspired Menu is unique with fun, delicious flavors. They allow you to personalize your drink with your choice of milk and sweetness level. You can add toppings to your drink like honey boba, red bean, grass jelly, cheese foam and more for an additional charge. Their honey boba is the best. The boba is warm, sweet and the perfect chewy texture. The staff is very helpful with pairing teas with toppings. I wanted to be adventurous and try the cheese foam--they suggested to try it on the Hong Kong Milk Tea. The cheese foam tasted so good, cream cheese flavor with a touch of salt to make a great sweet and savory combo.I have almost tried every Loose Leaf Co.'s drink on the menu. Here are a few of my favorites: Black Sesame Ginger, Matchacado, Golden Matcha Milk, Purple Roots and Original Fifty50. I personally like my drinks at quarter sweet level. This is a place for all tea and boba lovers. I enjoy bringing my friends and family to experience their first boba drink here. They always want to come back for more!

This was the first time I've ever tried boba and it did not disappoint. I had to sort of navigate the menu myself trying to figure out what kind of milk I wanted or the sweetness I was looking for but in the end, it was a delicious, beautiful creation that I would definitely go back for!

The flavor of the drinks are authentic and natural. Not the powdered mixes used by other so-called boba tea. I like the fact that they allow the customer to decide how much sugar (just like Taiwanese style). I've been back a few times and will definitely continue to come back.

Ridiculously good. Love the banana foster! My only small issue is with one of the younger girls that works there. She’s sweet, but she will be in the middle of making a drink and completely stop to talk to another coworker, or have her phone out and only be looking down and paying attention to it. Other than that, this place is ? ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I can always count on this location of Loose Leaf to be a quick and successful boba run! While I love the New Haven locations, I greatly appreciate the ease of parking at this one to get my boba fix. Loose Leaf has unique flavors of boba that are freshly brewed tea leaves. No powder to be found (which is always something I check for with places). My favorite here is the matcha strawberry. Their fresh strawberry compote is perfectly sweet and pairs so well with the matcha. I like adding their honey boba or grass jelly as the topping. There are seasonal specials that are unique to this location such as the pandan black sugar bubble tea. The Hong Kong Milk tea at 25% sweetness also brings out the tea flavors and is delicious with the honey boba. Definitely an opportunity to give all the flavors a try is worthwhile!
