Ordered Zuppe di pesce fra diavlo hot, waiter screwed that up a family meal of $800 not to good. This is my second time there meal not good . Last time an I live in town , will never recommend to anyone ever again .

Service was very good - food was OK. Have not been here in quite some time, and remember the original restaurant that has now been expanded to a much larger footprint. They took over an adjoining store and expanded their seating. Went during the week, and at first it looked very empty, but by 8:00 it was quite full of diners. Even when crowded, the service was good and we never felt abandoned. The food was OK. I do remember the menu used to have more upscale/delicate dishes, now it seems to focus on heavy Italian fare - not unlike 100 other restaurants in the New Haven/Hartford corridor. So while I can't complain about most of the food, I do think they are not the outstanding place they once were. They have slipped from outstanding to just OK. I ordered clams casino, but what they call casino is really baked stuffed clams, overwhelmed by bread crumbs. They were flavorful and the clams tasted fresh, but they were not the real thing that I expected and what I find at upscale locations. So if you go, you will find the food good but not outstanding, typical and not very creative, and lacking the touch of a real chef like the original Michaels. But I guess you can't argue with success - they have a much larger facility and they are filling it up on weekdays, so it must resonate with the locals. I'm sure I will go back in the future; perhaps with my expectations now lowered I will find it more agreeable.

The noise level was very annoying. We were in the new section of the restaurant and people were shouting at each other to be heard above the noise. Something needs to be done to alleviate this because everything else was superb
Wow. Unexpected stop on the way to NYC. So happy we did. Amazing food and service. Was in a small group and we all loved it. Two thumbs up.

They wouldn't let us eat outside because it wasn't 7:30 pm yet. We ended up at a tiny table near a loud party drinking lots of wine... thought they'd never leave. I had the eggplant rolatini. The portion size was very small for the price and was nothing special. I wouldn't recommend it. Also, parking is a nightmare.

Food was basic, nothing special. We ordered the veal Parmesan and it came out without cheese and the swordfish special was just ok. Nothing spectacular at all for the price. I told the host it was my girlfriend’s birthday and to please tell the waitress. I was hoping for great service for her birthday but that wasn’t the case. Love the new expansion but just was not impressed with everything else. Surprised since I have been there in the past.

This is a very nice restaurant and lounge Dining areas are well set and cozy with hardwood tables set moderately apart with plenty of room for movement The food was served fresh and hot and the portions are very generous The entire menu is appealing to the palate and the staff was very willing to modify my entree to my liking I talked a little with the owner and was informed that he has more plans to add another ingenious addition to the restaurant , not letting the info out now but his idea should bring the business to a new level
