Vida Mexicana Wallingford CT

I understand that not everyone has the same tastes, but in my case it is nothing out of this world. First the appetizer we ordered was a sampler of quesadillas and these were not cut, if it is a sampler it is obvious that it is to share and then my wife ordered the seafood tower and nowhere did it say that it was raw seafood. HELLO!!!! Not everyone likes that. It would be nice if they specified somewhere on the menu that the dish is that way, which is why I only give it 2 stars

Food was awesome. Big plates prices are very reasonable. Service was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating to changes in our order. I think it’s our new Mexican restaurant go to!!!!

Love!! Best margaritas & Mexican food in the area, been in numerous occasions and it never disappoints. Idk if margarita Monday is still a thing but I used to live for it!

The food was great, but when a couple of guys meet up for a quick lunch, we do not expect to be waiting for the bill longer than we were eating. After our server sat us and brought drinks, he disappeared for a while, and every time we needed him he was nowhere to be seen. About 25 minutes after we were done eating another server asked if we needed anything and we asked for our check and even she didn't know why he was missing. Right before we left he popped up saying he got busy in another area (perhaps a big table), but the restaurant did not seem that busy and if that was the case, why have separate tables so far from eachother you couldn't keep an eye on your customers? We enjoyed the food but the service left a bad taste in our mouths. Next time I am in the area I'll suggest one of the other 5 places to get food nearby.

Stopped my for a lunch with family. Very disappointed with the food. We knew it was going to be tough when we tasted the salsa and it was very strong tomato taste and not much else. It was more of a sauce than a salsa. Missing were the onion, cilanto flavors. I got a lunch combo with a beef burrito and chicken enchilada. The beef inside looked and tasted like boiled beef. It had no seasoning. It was also covered with the enchilada sauce from the enchilada. Unfortunately, while this gave it some saltiness, the enchilada sauce was missing the wonderful flavor we associate with enchilada sauce (chipotle, cumin, chocolates, spices etc). The chicken inside the enchilada was okay, but without a good sauce, it fell flat. My wife’s chicken fajita had the same issue- flavorless meat. Lucky for her, the onion and peppers still sautéed up well. My son’s taquitos- just okay. Some positives- the staff was nice (service was a bit slow and I had to go inside the restaurant to find a server to pay). The atmosphere was also good. We ate outside and there was a nice, lattice-covered patio. The lunch prices were very good as well. We hadn’t eaten here in very a long time and remembered the food being better. Unfortunately, we won’t return.

I ordered through Uber eats and there was a small issue. Uber is hardly ever helpful. I contacted the manager and she was so kind, willing to rectify the issue. We’ve frequently ordered from Vida’s and will continue to do so, you can’t beat the attentive service.

The food is horrible, I ordered carne asada tacos, it doesn't come with onion or cilantro, horrible and salty tortilla soup, my family and I definitely ate it.
