The food was decent, but the steak in the sandwich tasted stale and had an off-putting odor. However, my main concern is the condition of the restaurant itself. The place has a musty smell, and the air vent near the restroom is filthy, likely not cleaned in years. It's unpleasant to sit under a ceiling that looks moldy and damaged. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but the overall cleanliness issues are a major turn-off. Ceiling tiles aren't expensive to replace, so please invest in maintaining your space for your customers' sake. Additionally, our waitress took a cigarette break in outside dining area and returned to serve food without washing her hands. This lack of hygiene is concerning.

I recently took my cousin out for a 'birthday' breakfast and, since she lives in Wallingford, she chose Rick's. Glad that she did. It's a small, very casual place. Homey decor with a staff that makes you feel like family. My cousin ordered 3 pancakes- and omg, they were so huge she took half of it home. I did the normal eggs, sausage, toast & homefries. Basic eggs- yummy sausage...and the homefries were the star of the plate. The coffee keeps coming- so we relaxed, chatted and enjoyed our relaxing morning.

One of the worst breakfast experiences I’ve had. First off, it took at least 15 mins before anyone came to take our drinks. My partner and I both got the overstuffed omelettes. I got the veggie omelette. All the food came out cold and took forever. The omelette was big, but looked like the only cheese was a Kraft singles slice ripped in half and thrown on top. Wasn’t even melted. Took my first bite and it was awful. It was as if the egg was wrapped around a microwaved frozen bags worth of veggies, including all the liquid that results from steaming. Disgusting amount of veggies and they definitely were not cooked into the egg portion of the omelette. I’ve never seen anyone, even a child, make such a horrendous excuse of an omelette. Everything else absolutely sucked and service continued to be slow and inattentive. Maybe this was a one off experience, but we will never be returning to find out.
