The Eatery of Wallingford

First time going to this place even though I’ve heard about it for a while — can’t believe I hadn’t gone sooner! The food was delicious, and as a coffee lover, I especially loved the Caramel Latte. The staff is super friendly (always a plus) and the space is beautiful. Will be coming back again!

Absolutely stellar sandwiches. I don’t even eat roast beef that much and I was blown away by the Chipotle Roast Beef melt. One of the crispiest breads I’ve had for a sandwich.

Super friendly staff.

If I lived within 20 miles of this place, I’d be coming at least once a week.

the fall potato salad is CRAZY magical, and that breakfast tofu wrap really is award winning. I cant wait to come back when im next in the area before the seasonal specials switch up! always a great crew and culinary talent in this place, thank you

I’ve been addicted to the hand crafted beverages here. Food has been pretty good, but the drinks keep me coming back.

I had a pastrami reuben with a side of french fries, a friend of mine had a turkey BLT wrap which was fantastic!! the service was great and prompt and i will be returning!!

Fantastic food! I had a go-to sandwich shop in Hamden that I would go to, but I tried The Eatery today and man, the quality is fantastic!!! Delicious Fox - grilled chicken sandwich. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Was not crowded at 11:45am either. Would recommend!!

Just got to say this place is amazing!! I had Cinnamon swirls French toast and it was perfect it hit the spot , also a fresh fruit cup filled with all sorts of fruits. definitely will be going there often

(Last visited January 10, 2025.) I've been coming to The Eatery in Wallingford for safe-to-say, years. A few of my foodie friends put me on game regarding this place that's about a 25-minute drive for me, but always so worth it. Here's why I love it so much!

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set in the center of Wallingford a little off of the main drag of Center Street is this humble gem. You can park on the street for free if there's space or in the plaza parking lot right up the block from them. Once in the door you're welcomed by several smiling faces and that makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE! This place is predominately made for takeout. There are no physical tables, but you certainly can pop a squat on the benches near the back of the restaurant if you'd like.

Service: There isn't necessarily table service since all you do is order at the counter and wait until your name is called, but the people there are so sweet, soft and will just make your day! They're also full of personality and their social media posts are super funny. Lol.

Food: I've had several things from their menu here including the Backyard BBQ Sandwich, Savannah Wrap, Vegan BBQ Mac & Jack Bowl, The Hungry Slope, BCB, Roast Beef and more! These are some of the highest quality, made-with-love sandwiches, tastiest, creative sandwiches around! I just love how every several months they change the menu up introducing new flavors for the season so you never know what you're gonna get! Of course the favorites stay on the menu!

Value: These sandwiches aren't cheap, but you have to pay for quality. Expect to spend between $11.00 and $15.00 here for a good meal. Then add on whatever else for drinks or sides, but it's worth it.

In conclusion, I love this place, I just wish they were closer AND that they were opened on weekends, but they keep the hours tight to allow their employees to have lives. I give them even more respect for that! Check this place out soon!
