Our overall experience was ok. Upon arrival, we asked the hostess if we could be seated upstairs. At first, we thought she may not have heard us, but my friend noticed a slight smile that gave the impression she preferred not to check for availability. Our server, Hannah, was very kind and attentive when present, but the service itself was quite slow. We waited a considerable amount of time for our check and for payment to be processed. Additionally, the party seated next to us was extremely loud and disruptive. While that is, of course, beyond the restaurant's control, it did impact our dining experience. The food, however, was excellent, and that's what may bring us back in the future.
Lovely restaurant, delicious food (the short rib was to die for, the burrata salad was wonderful and my bees knees cocktail was perfect,) unique atmosphere, great service. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
This was our first time here. Everything was great! Our entire group enjoyed the Sunday Brunch! We will be back!
The Library has become our go-to place to meet friends from the Hartford area and it has been consistent in providing very good food with excellent service.
I was very impressed with the library. We got the pulpo for appetizer. It was so good. The pear salad was amazing. I got the chicken which was so tender and delicious. My husband got the ribeye. Both cooked perfectly. No room for dessert. Portions for entrees was great. Will be back for sure
Been here a few times. Cool place, solid food. Will definitely go back. The convenience of its proximity to the Toyota Oakdale theater is fantastic.
Love the Library Bistro's ambiance and gorgeous interior. We asked to be seated in a quieter area and were put at a nice table in a corner where the noise level was acceptable. Food was delicious. My husband and I shared an entree and they plated it up in two plates. Very thoughtful. Attentive and friendly wait staff.
We just love the Library! My niece had her Bridal Shower here a couple of years ago, which is how I discovered the beauty of the Library Wine Bar and Bistro. The atmosphere, food, and service were all exceptional. Recently, we've been quite a few times to their Sunday Brunch and it's our most favorite. The price is reasonable, the selection abundant and delicious, and the service from all staff was phenomenal. I highly recommend this establishment!
Celebrated my sister in laws 40th birthday last night. Every single thing was perfect!! from the table set up, to service, to drinks, and the food. 10/10!! Can't wait to go back!
Excellent! Beautiful historical setting. Excellent food and drinks. Highly recommend a visit.

We asked for a booth that we were set at a table that was very small for two people why everybody else you had two people sat at larger tables. It could accommodate four people. Our service was rather poor. We felt neglected compared to some of the other customers that had their waiters come by frequently We felt maybe it was related to the fact that we didn't order any alcohol drinks
Great go-to spot. Prices are good and the food is great. We had John as our server and he did an awesome job. Thanks and we will be back soon.
Food and service was good. My salmon was the best I've had in while; tender, mild and a hint of sweetness. Well prepared. My husband's steak filet was good, too. The problem, if you will, was a dirty, run down restaurant, badly in need of cleaning and painting. The floor was sticky, the table was sticky with old varnish, a mirror above the unlit fireplace was fogged with grease. Painted and baseboard trim was filthy too, with accumulated dirt in every corner. Then there was the one and only bathroom, which was disgusting. My rule of thumb is that when a restaurant is dirty, so is the kitchen. It's a shame, because the architecture is pleasing and it could be beautiful, as it likely was when it first opened. We won't go back.
Overall good time for an early pre-concert dinner. Everything we had was very good. Our server and the rest of the wait staff and hosts that we dealt with were very nice and attentive to the table. We ordered steamed mussels and calamari for table apps, and I had the seafood pasta entree, they were all very good. It was Kentucky Derby day so the bar area looked crowded, lively and fun from where we were sitting in the adjacent dining area. It was our first time dining there with another couple that had dined there numerous times. Based on our first time there, we would not hesitate to go there again and can recommend it.
Our first dining experience at The Library Wine Bar & Bistro was a great one. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we tasted, and portion sizes were ample. The space itself is very cool - historic and charming, different from other restaurants. Highly recommend!
