Good expresso martinis, fun atmosphere and friendly staff. Always has a crowd. Had a bar pie, ok. Flights of martini was a great way to try the special flavors for the holidays.

Fun experience with a large interior and great coffee! It's a great coffee shop that I'd always pass and never enter. So glad some friends brought me and so happy to have a great cup of coffee and hang out.

Cool place a bit off the beaten path. They offer a large variety of coffee, beer and espresso martinis. I got the seasonal pumpkin martini and a hazy IPA. They don’t allow dogs which is a bummer, but I would happy stop by here again for a drink (or the espresso martini flight).

We were excited to take the kids and do the hot cocoa flight on a Sunday mid morning, but when we got there we realized it hadn’t started yet. We decided to order the kids two kid sized nutella hot cocoas and french toast sticks, and get ourselves the seasonal iced coffee flight to split and an egg sandwich. We were given a buzzer and got a table.

We waited for a while and the kids cocoas was brought to us. The kids said that the hot cocoa was okay- we tasted it and it tasted like store bought mix with no taste of nutella- just a little marshmallow. When the buzzer went off, and I grabbed the sandwich, the employee took the buzzer without checking if we had anything else we were waiting for. The egg sandwich was okay, just very messy.

After a while I went back up because I thought it weird that the french toast sticks were taking so long. The staff was incredibly disorganized and were not paying attention. As I stood there next to another woman waiting for a sandwich- the staff was just not at the front. A bagel was sitting on the counter- A man walked up and looked around and took the sandwich back to his table. A minute later he brought the sandwich back and put it at the counter. Still no staff. When an employee came back- she looked at us and another woman waiting and asked us what we needed. The woman who was before me explained she was waiting for her food- the staff told her the bagel was hers. The woman explained that a guy has taken it and brought it back, and asked if they could remake it. The staff said sure and went to the back and a minute later returned with the same sandwich and said yeah no bacon on it. The customer had to again explain that the issue wasn’t the bacon it was that some random guy had taken it back to his table before returning it.

Another staff member brought out two flights- yelled TWO FLIGHTS and left- before I could ask if one of them was mine because they took my buzzer but I was still waiting etc. So this staff left again leaving the entire front counter empty with three people waiting and a whole line. A different staff person came out and asked the person after me what she needed- upon hearing her order number was 19, I interrupted and said mine had been 12. She immediately handed me a flight. I also explained I needed the french toast sticks- to which she went into the back again and came out with lukewarm sticks.

Back at our table the boys said they were 2 out of 5. They were dry, spongey, and bland.

The iced coffees were good I will say that. But when I went back up to ask what the flavors were the same staff who handed me the flights said oh we didn’t give you a list? you were supposed to get a list with it- if we didn’t give you one here- and handed me one.

As we sat in the place- the two women next to us to reorder a sandwich and a flight because what they were given didn’t match what they ordered.

Maybe the staff was having an off day, or someone called out- but regardless it seemed like they just couldn’t get it together. Anytime the line died down to a couple people, I would see two or three of them just talking in a corner to someone on a laptop.

Yellow King is my home away from home in Wallingford. Great staff, great drinks and always fun events happening. Wallingford struggles with a lack of creativity when it comes to options to go out, but Yellow King remedies that. It’s also a low key great place for fans to watch sports. All the games are always on and the staff, who are always more than nice, is happy to turn on whichever game you’re looking for. Overall just a great place for coffee, drinks and atmosphere.

The place looks cools, the owners a nice guy, the coffee is great when it's done right, I stopped going in the mornings for coffee because spending over $10 after tip for a coffee just for it to be messed up is to pricey, and I hate to wait in line to get it fixed. Great place for a beer, nice selection.

We found this spot on Google while searching for fall coffees. Saw they had coffee flights and decided to check it out. What a great decision! The place is conveniently located on the side of a main road, easy to see while driving. Walked into a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing seating area, they also have outdoor seating where we were able to sit with our small dog while we enjoyed our order. We got the Sweater Weather coffee flight, all of which were delicious in their own way. They were all iced coffees which was great because it was still pretty warm outside. I got a Nuzilla hot chocolate for myself, as I’m not the biggest fan of coffee in general. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Every sip felt like a warm hug. For food, we got a blueberry muffin and a toasted cheddar bagel with cream cheese. I think the bagel might have been the best I’ve ever had on the East coast as well. I didn’t have much of the muffin but the little piece I had was delicious and crumbly. Everything tasted really fresh. The two girls working behind the counter were very friendly and made our order expeditiously. We came to the conclusion that this will be our date afternoon stop from now on, we’ll be coming back frequently! Oh, and everything was very reasonably priced, especially based on the quality of food and drinks you get for what you pay. Highly recommended!!!

As someone who loves espresso martinis and fall New England drinks, I was really disappointed with the espresso martini flights. The apple cider donut one tasted like artificial apple syrup, the pumpkin one was powdery from the cinnamon and didn't taste good at all, the salted caramel one was straight salt, and the original tasted like burnt coffee beans. The vibe inside was nice so I was disappointed by the flavor of the drinks. I couldn't finish any of them. The vibe was fun and my friend had a halfway decent drink, but it seemed like other surrounding customers also didn't like/finish the flights, which is the whole reason we came.
