Without throwing the whole place under the bus, I will tell you this.I would not go back ever. The reputation may have been good from days.Going be beyond, but not now, they lived on the reputation long enough. The food was just adequate, the atmosphere was okay. The service was terrible, absolutely terrible.Waited forever while everybody else got their food and the reason was they said they were overcrowded. But yet, there was a bunch of tables still open you, tell me

We stopped by The White Horse Restaurant and had such a great experience. The fish and chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside — not greasy at all. The sweet potato fries were excellent, and the lemon wedge on the side added a nice fresh touch.

For dessert, we tried the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, and it was absolutely delicious — warm, comforting, and just the right sweetness. It went perfectly with a cup of coffee.

The service was friendly and relaxed, and the food came out hot and fresh. Overall, a cozy, welcoming place with food that’s clearly made with care. Definitely worth a visit!

Food was not impressive at all. Salad came out with no dressing. Ordered burger rare, it was medium well. Fries were not crisp at all. My husband was also not impressed. Acoustics were awful, all we could hear was some entitled man yelling.

We ordered the sole and pasta specials. They were both outstanding. Loved the place with all its nostalgia. Great service. Looking forward to returning.

There is a beautiful bartender here who creates the most interesting cocktails to match every season. Her name is Erica and she really made our experience memorable....she waits on us at the table in bar area while tending bar at same time and cheers everyone up at the same time. We only want to go when she is there working. You're the best and sweetest Erica, thank you for being so awesome 💓

I’ve been coming here for nearly twenty years since they first opened, and they’ve only gotten better with time. The food, the atmosphere, the memories, all of it has been wonderful. But it only takes one experience to undo it all. Erica the bartender is downright cruel. I’d like to chalk it up to her having a bad day, but this wasn’t our only encounter. Dining out should be a way to unwind, to enjoy good food and a welcoming environment. Instead, it felt like walking into the DMV. I don’t know what’s going on with her, but working in hospitality requires a basic level of empathy and kindness, something every other server here seems to have except for her. She was short and irritated on the phone when I called in a takeout order, and even worse in person, shooing us away like cattle. She needs a job that doesn’t involve human interaction. I don’t know why management doesn’t heed the reviews of others and it seems I’m not the only one acknowledging her behavior. Her cocktails are no better. Pumpkin martinis used to be a fall favorite for my friends and family, but when she makes them, it’s just Baileys in a glass, no garnish, no pumpkin, and somehow lukewarm. After twenty years of loyalty to this otherwise lovely little place, I’m definitely disappointed.

We typically dine st the Hopkins Inn while staying there but wandered off a few mikes south with friends to check out the White Horse Pub. Great service, food and atmosphere. My beef stroganoff was the best, very flavorful and a large portion as well. Additionally our Friends loved their chicken pot pie and fish and chips. My wife says she has to come back and try again so she won’t have to mention her Chicken Wellington with overly large chunks and hard string beans (oops, she already did). Our meal was served in maybe 10-15 minutes despite a 75% full house on a Wednesday eve. at 6:00 PM. Get reservations if you’re not sure, this place is popular as you’ll hopefully learn why.

My girlfriend and I stopped by after hiking and it was worth it. She had the chicken pot pie, I got the NY strip, and we shared the truffle mac & cheese and chocolate soufflé — everything was delicious. The place was busy so we sat at the bar, but the bartender was super friendly and attentive. Overall, great food and cozy atmosphere. Would definitely come back!

White Horse Country Pub is a fantastic restaurant with outstanding food, large portions, and a beautiful setting both inside and outside. The interior is unique and almost feels like you are in a museum with beautiful beams, interesting lighting and an historic feel.

I really wanted to love this restaurant. I'd read so many great reviews, and it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for: a lovely, authentic New England country pub with creekside views. I'm traveling alone and was looking forward to a peaceful evening with great food. Unfortunately I didn't get that. Right off the bat the service was lacking - there was nobody at the front counter. Several servers walked by and saw me standing there, but said nothing and just ignored me. After about 7 minutes a young woman walked out and brusquely demanded to know if I had a reservation (I did). No welcome, nothing. She seated me in one of two dining rooms at a table next to the window with a lovely view of the creek, so I had high hopes things would get better...but across the room was a table with 5 adults who INCREDIBLY LOUD! One woman was practically SCREAMING, spewing curse words and vulgarities, ranting about how awful her mother was, what a drunk her brother is, angrily telling awful stories of her family. It appeared to be group of related adults who were taking this opportunity to unload decades of family trauma, at TOP VOLUME, with frequent eruptions of "OH THAT'S BUL***" or "HE HAD NO EFFIN EXCUSE," stuff like that. They weren't fighting, more like venting...to the entire room. There were only two other occupied tables in the room, with a number of empty tables, so I'm still a bit baffled why the hostess made such a deal about having a reservation. Unfortunately, all the open tables were CLOSER to the loud group, and the other dining room appeared full, and it was too chilly for the outdoor patio, so I couldn't even ask to be moved. I was going to ask someone to do something about the loud people, but I could see the wait staff talking amongst themselves and it was clear they knew there was a problem. And yet they did nothing. It shouldn't be up to me to demand that a table ruining everyone else's dinner be dealt with. Nor should I have to confront the loud diners and ask them to quiet down. Okay, the food: it was decent, but not fabulous. I had the escargot, which was served too hot and a bit overcooked, with no bread to soak up the garlic butter (I had to ask for it). The wild mushroom pappardelle was...meh. The description claims it's wild mushrooms, but all I saw in there were basic button mushrooms. The sauce was somewhat tasteless. Perhaps I just picked bad menu choices and their other offerings are great, but I won't be returning to find out. I ate quickly and didn't stick around for dessert, as the other table was getting louder by the minute and I just needed to get out of there. My ears were ringing for an hour after I left. So much for my lovely peaceful dinner!
