No Mames Mexican Cantina

My daughter and I just had the best experience at No Mames. Alejandro at the bar and Zeke at our table combined for outstanding service. They asked if we had any allergies, so thoughtful. The margaritas are perfectly fresh and tart and the food was impeccable…from presentation to flavor to timing. The plantains were the best we’ve ever had, and my husband is from Puerto Rico. The chicken my daughter ordered could feed a family of four and was wonderfully seasoned. Do not skip out on the black beans! They are simple, yet delicious. The presentation and flavor of the desserts are the best way to finish the meal. When the cappuccino I ordered only arrived with a side of sugar substitutes, Zeke went and found a tiny terracotta bowl of sugar from the kitchen.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our dinner this evening.

Amazing food!!! The bartender was great too, and the manager seemed to enjoy talking to the guests too which is a nice touch. Save room for the flan!

Our server Michael made us feel so welcome and comfortable from the moment we walked in. This place is perfect for a date night, birthday, or any special occasion.

My husband had a reservation for 6:30, but we arrived a bit early. The manager was so understanding — he told us, “Have a seat at the bar for a few minutes,” and not even five minutes later he came back smiling and said, “I lied, we’ve got a table ready for you!” That alone made us feel so taken care of.

Now let’s talk about the food — OMG!
We started with the queso fundido, which was incredible. Then we ordered drinks and entrées: the salmon was perfection and the carne asada was cooked beautifully. You can truly taste the chef’s love and passion in every bite.

We will definitely be back!

I recently dined at No Mames in Wethersfield and while the service itself was attentive and both the general manager and waiter made every effort to accommodate us, the timeliness and quality of the food were disappointing.

Despite ordering simple, standard menu items with no modifications, the food took an unusually long time to arrive—so much so that our total visit lasted three hours. When the dishes finally came out, they were cold, which made the delay even more frustrating. For the price point, the overall experience did not feel justified.

Unfortunately, due to the significant wait time, lack of temperature control on the food, and the high cost relative to the experience, I can’t say I would recommend the restaurant at this time.

Thanks so much to all the wonderful No Mames staff for an awesome birthday dinner for my friend last evening! The atmosphere was inviting and visually appealing.You made us feel especially welcomed and special by surprising him with a complementary drink and appetizers that were delicious! The guacamole was outstanding! The short rib tacos were excellent as was the Quesabirria. I loved the Calabaza taco (made with butternut squash) but unfortunately chose the Tamales de Calabaza that was so spicy for my taste that I couldn’t eat it. I let the server know that I wasn’t happy with it so I was disappointed when I was still charged for an item that wasn’t as described. Thankfully, Phillip, the very personable manager, agreed with me when I brought this to his attention and took it off my bill. And the desserts…OMG!!! The lime cheesecake and flan were amazing! Overall, the food, atmosphere and customer service was exceptional and we really appreciated it!

I ordered a happy hour samer platter for myself and it was more food than I could finish. The food was delicious and the cocktails were on point. I will definitely go again with friends

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here on a recent Thursday evening. We were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and served very well by the team at No Mames. Our drinks, appetizers, tacos, and desserts were all outstanding. We will return with friends!

They charged me $20 for 3 small tacos I could of went to chipotle and paid less for the same quality won’t not go again

We had an amazing time celebrating my daughter’s birthday here. They really made it special for my girl. The ambiance is beautiful & relaxing, the food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. Great for girls or date night. If you go for a special event, let them know ahead of time and they won’t disappoint.

Came in for my buddys birthday, ended up meeting Zeek behind the bar. He took care of us like no other definitely coming back, drinks were delicious, and both bartenders created a good environment to hang out in and have a good time.

Food is regular, service is bad. When they just opened it they had a good service but it just got worst. I came back with some friends tonight and we were kicked out of the place only because they had another group of people and we weren’t ordering alcohol drinks I guess. We reserved a table we wanted to have a good time and they just asked to leave after finished our dessert and paid the bill, by the way we weren’t asking for it . This is not a fast food restaurant so why do they ask you to leave fast to seat more people??? Unprofessional, expensive and bad service and they serve food that doesn’t worth your money. We will never come back.
