River: A Waterfront Restaurant and Bar

I've been there many times. Yesterday brought 3 friends for their first time for lunch. They loved it( especially the food and decor). Will come again on Halloween.

Ambience was lovely, excellent food and outstanding service made for a lovely work celebration!

What a hidden gem. Driving into the space I would have never imagined such a welcoming and beautiful space. We had a party of seven and sat outside. The heaters are awesome, what a great way to make sure time outside lasts longer with our changing seasons. The food was wonderful, the view relaxing, and the waitress was great. The decorations for Halloween were such a fun extra bonus. We will be back to see what Christmas looks like! Very happy to have found this spot and can see it being a favorite meeting place as we are a group of friends that come together from different towns and try to find places that are easy for us to travel to. Thank you for a great experience!

The menu is very limited. The dinner menu is A La Carte; no sides, no salad, no bread. Had the scallops ($38.00). Got 5 small scallops and 8 cherry tomatoes in a puree sauce. Will not be returning.

The service was great but the food was very disappointing. Their menu has changed dramatically and the food was sub par. My husband ordered the chicken parm and the chicken was so dry it was hard to tell it was chicken. He's always had the chicken parm in the past and it was outstanding. I ordered the steak. There were only 3 choices of steak and it came a la carte. So for $50 I just got steak. It was okay but not delicious as it has been in the past. This was always our go to restaurant for special events but there was nothing special about this meal but the view.

The brunch menu was very very limited! Only a few items to choose from and the food was terrible. I wouldn't recommend the brunch!

Didn't see our server very often. Had to request beverages several times before we got them. Server took a long time to take our order and did not come to our table when he should have. He disappeared several times.

4 guests. 2 generations. 4 different meals + an appetizer & a starter + 3 non-alcoholic beverage & a Prosecco with tip = $175. Speed boat on the river at sunset. We will continue our annual visit with our out-of-state visitors after participating at the Old Wethersfield Arts & Crafts Fundraising Fair.

Had a wonderful brunch sitting outside by the river. The food and drinks were outstanding and the service was top notch! Will visit if we are back in the area again!

A friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch while sitting out on the deck viewing the serene Connecticut River. We were able to converse quietly as we enjoyed our lunch. I'll definitely be back time and time again.

Lunch menu has been drastically reduced. Food quality is poor at best. Venue remains outstanding . Building management has neglected the front steps which are much in need of repair.

The lunch menu is very limited. The clam chowder was great tasting. The BLTA was tasty. Can't beat the view.

Very cool location, food was decent, a lil pricey, but the atmosphere and friendly staff made up for it.

1. We were a group of 4. Three meals came out together. One arrived 5-7 minutes after the other three. Poor timing. 2. Very few tables were occupied. Why did they seat us so close to the only other table in the room? 3. Mango mousse cake dessert wasn't tasty. We didn't eat it after the first bite. Credit was applied to our bill. 4. Veronica is an OUTSTANDING waitress!
