Outstanding cuisine
The finest food in Fairfield County

This was our first visit here since ownership changed several years ago and, frankly, we were disappointed. The beet salad starter was very tasty but the entrees were unexceptional - not bad, mind you, but lacking in imagination and interest.
The stand out feature of the Schoolhouse is its ear-splitting din. People in the restaurant were - literally - screaming at each other due to the cacophony. And even toward the end of evening when the place was half full, a few screamers was all it took to dissaude us from returning.
On the plus side was our waiter who was pleasant and attentive. He said he'd worked there 18 years, making me wonder why his hearing is still intact.

Very cool
It is one of our favorite places in Fairfield county. It is now under a new management for the last few years, but the quality and standard is exactly the same as before. A couple of days ago we went there for our anniversary dinner. The staff is so courteous and so friendly, they make you feel like you are the ones that have been waiting for all day.
The food is amazing, very flavorful and very high quality, And the prices reflect that quality. I highly recommend it. We will continue going back.
One important thing to remember, when you're sitting there and having dinner, you can actually see and imagine the historic schoolhouse.
We were just driving by and we found this gem. It is q tiny restaurant. Luckily it was not Friday cuz I am sure they are over crowded. We had the salmon and the tuna. Both were fantastic!!
I strongly recommend to make a reservation!

Great place for dinner. From dinner to desserts and cocktails (& Mocktails) it was all delicious and fresh. Mario was out waiter and he was delightful. Will definitely return again with friends.
Baldanza at the Schoolhouse is what you always want for a dining experience. The food is excellent from the first course all the way through dessert, the setting in an old schoolhouse is charming and the staff is friendly and attentive. We can't wait to return with friends.

A charming antique school house transformed into a warm, friendly and fun place to dine. The staff is very attentive and the food is always fresh and beautifully prepared. There is something on the creative menu for everyone.
Baldanza is a housed in an 1872 Schoolhouse. The charm of the setting is the perfect compliment to the excellence of Baldanza's food, service and "personality" of this restaurant. This is my go to place when looking for a night out!
Great food. Everyone loved their food. Place is adorable. Wait staff attentive and awesome. Husband thought chicken was mid but everything else was outstanding. Will go back in a heart beat.
The room transports you to an old schoolroom. Lauro and the rest of the wait staff treat you so well. It was my birthday and they made a delicious homemade strawberry shortcake biscuit for me. All food is freshly made to order. The beet salad was phenomenal. Ahi tuna sandwich was superb. The Baldanza meatballs tasted like grandma used to make. It was a memorable birthday experience. I was not sent to the Principal!!! Do yourself a favor and have a great meal. When you are done check out the cute British gift shop Penny Ha Penny next door.
We brought family members who were visiting from out of town—one who was celebrating a birthday. Our meal, the service, and the ambience couldn't have been more perfect. We shared appetizers of perfectly fried frito misto, an interesting corn salad with peas and blueberries, and Baldanza's perfect meatballs. The fish special was sautéed swordfish with a Provençal style sauce of olives, cherry tomatoes and capers that was excellent. The shrimp risotto was excellent and the tomahawk veal chop with handmade pasta was a hit. The restaurant topped of our fabulous dinner with a delicious tiramisu with raspberry sauce for the birthday celebrant. It was truly a special meal. Thank you Baldanza at the Schoolhouse.
