Second Poquonock Giant Grinder

Purchased a $19 grinder today. Total came to $24. Said it was tax. Asked for a receipt said because I paid cash it would have to be hand written. Thought I was in the twilight zone. Did sales tax in crease by 66% over night? Went home did the math and charged me roughly $4 more to likely go into his pocket. Beware the short pale man working there. Sales tax on prepared food in ct is 7%. Thief.

Update discussed this issue with the “owner”. Apparently tyler who stole the money is of no relation. I was questioned by the owner as to why I waited 2 weeks to come back in for $4 as if to say i am guilty? Confused also referered to the thief as trust worthy? Confused. Needless to say not an ideal place for Me. I will try to be classier.

Awesome turkey club and gigantic! Had to catch a flight but will eat in next time for sure, came highly recommended from the Facebook page Hoagie Gurus, this is a great deli can’t wait to come back.

If you want quantity over quality, this is the place for you. First day I ordered a philly cheese steak and the meat wasn’t that good, I’d give it 4/10.

Second day I ordered the pastrami grinder, to give it a second chance, asked for extra mayo to make it a bit juicier since pastrami is a dried meat and they barely threw mayo in there. I’d give this one a 5.5/10.

I’m giving a 3 star just to be fair, but I think you guys can do better.

Although the steak and roast beef grinders had little to no flavor(could be an east coast thing), the food was good. Ordered online, picked it up within 20 mins, and was back to the hotel in no time at all.

Worse Philly Cheese Steak ever! Beef was dry, burnt and flavorless! Barely any cheese. I requested lettuce and tomatoes, which were at the bottom of grinder...if it was added to top, might have gave it some moisture! I asked for oil & vinegar, which was not added ! As well as the mayo!! French fries were soft. The best thing was, the bottled coke!! Should have went to H&M!

Saw the reviews and decided to take a shot for an after work meal...OMG!! I got the philly stake and cheese, and added lettuce, black olives with no extra charge.. for less $14 this is what i got, two meals easy.. and that happy belly feeling afer i ate half... Taste was absolutely the best.. my go to grinder joint now, for after work!! Well 2nd friday night at the 2nd Poquonick,, I opted for the pastrami grinder, as you can see 2 meals again, meat was fresh and tender... this grinder joint is a hidden gem.. ill be eatin their grinders most friday nights and take a shot at a small pizza, in the future...

Their food is delicious I had a party pizza from there and chicken and rice sorry I forgot to take a pic of the pizza the only thing is the rice was a little dry if they put vegetables with the chicken and rice done like street corn or broccoli and put butter in the rice it would be 10?s so I give a 9 on the chicken and rice for 11$ they could have put vegetables!
