The service is very lethargic even when just opened up for the day never seems enthusiastic about their job. Act very skimpy when preparing plate doesn’t allow you to point out your own pieces to put in your tray seems to have an attitude the entire time prepping your food…
This place is a joke
Definitely a 1 out of 5 star type of restaurant…
Eat at your own risk! Lol

The server would not give me more than 3 small hot sauce packets for 4 pieces of fish. I even asked to pay for it and she said I could not. She was rude and careless. I also go the Mac and cheese and it was not even made with enough cheese. It was falling apart. Lastly. The server gave me the very last bit of Mac and cheese with the burnt bottom of the pan. I will not be returning, if you are in the area try Soul Bowls a MUCH better establishment and the food actually has flavor.

The food was pricy, but worth it. The staff behind the counter was super friendly. The lady servicing the lobby was a bit cranky, but it was similar to getting on your grandma’s nerves. Food was served in to go containers with plastic ware for both dine in and carry out. There was a great sense of community between the folks in the lobby and the staff. We even met a wonderful man named Dr. Lawrence who gave us the history of the family business. Overall a great experience. We would definitely return.

A Culinary Journey Through Comfort at Lilly's Soul Food
Nestled in the heart of the community, Lilly's Soul Food stands as a beacon of warmth and tradition, effortlessly blending flavors that evoke nostalgia and satisfaction. My recent visit was nothing short of a delightful culinary experience, one that reminded me of the rich tapestry of Southern cooking, where every dish tells a story.
I opted for the fried chicken, a dish that can often be a litmus test for any soul food establishment. At Lilly's, the chicken was nothing short of delectable. Each bite revealed a perfectly seasoned crust, golden and crisp, giving way to tender, juicy meat that was cooked to perfection. The balance of spices was masterful, evoking a sense of home-cooked comfort that is all too rare. It was as if the chef had captured the essence of Southern hospitality and placed it delicately on my plate.
My wife, on the other hand, chose the meatloaf, collard greens, and sweet potatoes—a trio that exemplifies the heart of soul food. The meatloaf was a revelation; each slice was imbued with deep flavors and a moistness that speaks volumes of the care taken in its preparation. It was hearty yet comforting, a dish that would make any home cook proud. The collard greens were expertly cooked, showcasing a tender yet vibrant green that retained a delightful crunch, seasoned just right to complement the richness of the meatloaf.
And let us not forget the sweet potatoes, which were nothing short of a sweet embrace on the palate. They were creamy, with a hint of cinnamon that danced on the tongue, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Each element on the plate worked harmoniously, a testament to the chef's skill in orchestrating flavors that resonate with the soul.
Lilly's Soul Food is a celebration of tradition, a culinary refuge where each dish invites you to savor the past while embracing the present. The cozy atmosphere, infused with the warmth of genuine hospitality, further enhances the dining experience, making it feel like a gathering of family rather than just a meal out.
In conclusion, Lilly's Soul Food is a noteworthy destination for anyone seeking authentic Southern cuisine that nourishes both the body and spirit. Whether you’re indulging in the fried chicken or savoring the meatloaf, every bite is a reminder of the power of food to connect us to our roots. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem, where the love for cooking shines through in every dish.

This place really has it all. A beautiful fusion between a vintage & modern appeal. Classy, quiet & an immensely welcoming environment. Much of staff — especially the server at the time — had a doting, maternal disposition that made you feel right at home. The food is incredible & evidently made with love. Especially those candied yams — WOW. My family & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience here.

I will go back again!!!
Lily's Soulfood Restaurant is an excellent choice!! I thoroughly enjoyed my food and would go again and again. The food is succulent, well-cooked and seasoned. The fish is delectable with the homemade pistachio green tartar sauce. The staff is nice and respectful(we had a huge order and added a few things). I did not discern frustration or rudeness, only an accommodating disposition. The restaurant is extremely clean and well-maintained. They have decor for viewing ONLY reminiscent of an era with stoves, food mixers, pianos, family pictures etcetera throughout the restaurant of our parents and grandparents' era. This is a must-try!!
They never have anything! I called and asked if they had peach cobbler, and they said yes they always have peach cobbler. I get there and they tell me that they're out. My mom called to see if they had any ribs, and once again, they said yes. She sends me there to get her ribs, and they're out. I live 5 minutes away. I'm done. I'm over it. I'm tired.
I even gave them a shot after they reopened post-quarantine, and they tried to charge me $14 for 3 (small) pieces of fried chicken. I should've just went to Popeye's, it's right up the street!
I tried them again in February, just hoping thins had improved. I went there and got a dinner. Curry chicken. It came with two sides. It should've been two sides and rice. The server put 3 peices of chicken in the container. Those 3 pieces amounted to one serving spoonful. Like the kind you use to stir a pot at home. $25. I walked out.
Look, the bottom line is if you want Soul Food, just go to Taste 778, Chef Walt's, or Hot Pots. Save yourself the disappointment.
Prices high service was slow. Upcharge for mac and cheese which actually was a side dish .
