I had been there a couple times over the last couple of years and the place was terrible - bad food, barely anyone there, bad service. I wouldn't go back. Then I see they are making changes and really asking everyone to give them another chance. I did - yesterday. The place again was not crowded. We sat at a table across from the bar. The bar had every seat taken but nobody at other tables. We said we were going to hold off on food but get a drink to start. We had our drink and a couple of shots and asked for buffalo cauliflower and spinach dip. I was just saying - she forgot us after 30 mins when the bartender walks over and tells us she spaced and forgot to put in our order. SMH. Finally our apps come out and we order a turkey club we are going to share. We order more drinks, more shots and guess what - no food again! After another 30 minutes of no food we left without eating. The manager asked why we were cancelling the food and asked if we wanted it to go but why would we stay around and wait for them to forget us again. I did give Union Street Tavern another change. They blew it! We won't be back. The worst part - we had a gift card from his birthday but he was so pissed we forgot to use it. Now it is just garbage. I didn't recommend it then - I don't recommend it now!

It does hurt to write this review, we have been coming here for a long time. But this place has lost its touch. The menu now is horrible, and no way is a “tavern” menu. Only. Few appetizers and there best ones they had are gone.
Loved all the different burgers they offered, and now they are gone. The food itself also seemed to have been unseasoned. It also took over an hour to get our food, which is unacceptable.
On a good note though the front of the house staff seemed very nice, and polite.

This is a home run if you are looking for cozy spot with Tavern food that is elevated in quality to the point of being surprising. Evidently they have a recently new chef. She/he gets mega kudos. Beef pot pie and pork schnitzel were excellent and at a level of higher end restaurants. Neighboring diners were similarly complementary. It is one of those unique places where you want to explore the menu further. A nice out of the way gem that is worth the effort to seek out.

The food except for the French onion soup was bland and I ended up sending it back. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

On a business trip and we decided to try this cool looking old train depot tavern. Unfortunately, it just didn't do it for us. Although my salmon was excellent, we had to wait over an hour for food and the place wasn't really that busy. They may be short-staffed, not sure. I had to flag my server down to get another drink. There was another group of us that came after and they were turned away and told they couldn't be accommodated. It's too bad because it's a really cool looking place and like I said, the food was very tasty. Need to focus more on the service and the food, not the bar.

We'd been coming to this restaurant for a couple years now as I have a family member that lives relatively close and this was seen as a "safe" option given the combination of dietary restrictions we all had. As of July 2024, that's no longer the case. One member of our regular group can't have anything with "spice" which also means no black pepper. We recognize that's a tall order for most restaurants but fish and chips had always been safe. That's no longer the case here as it appears Old Bay seasoning is now added. Old Bay includes black pepper, white pepper, and even cayenne so it makes even this once safe dish completely inedible.

Unfortunately, it took well over an hour for us to discover that. Get seated and it was about 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Another 10-15 minutes for drinks to be delivered before our dinner order was taken. Food eventually gets delivered for everyone else but not for the member with the spice restriction. Props to our waitress for catching the spice at the last second and taking an order for an alternative, but after waiting another 25 minutes and still no food arriving, we gave up and cancelled their order.

Overall, we easily spent nearly 3 HOURS trying to get a dinner for 6 completed. Fortunately, we already had alternate plans for dessert so we didn't have to extend our suffering after just 5 of us got anything to actually eat.

And for what it's worth, the 1 star for service is because of the kitchen staff entirely. The wait staff did what they could but were entirely at the mercy of the inept kitchen staff.

Dietary restrictions: If you have non-standard restrictions, don't expect the kitchen staff to be able to handle them.

Please add some lower priced options. I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to come here as often as I'd like

They changed the menu, every food item is different than how it was a couple months ago, this was one of my favorite places. It's disappointing to see it go down hill so fast for me. PS: I'm allergic to cauliflower and I had a shifty version of my once beloved chicken and waffles, why the hell am I having an allergic reaction.

Super cute restaurant but small and fills up fast! Sides are huge and can easily be split between friends as a meal. Menu is small but wide variety of options.
