We love eating at 1754 House. My husband and I were big fans prior to having our daughter and frequented often. After we had our daughter with food allergies we took a break from eating out. We have been here twice with our toddler with food allergies and they have been amazing accommodating her each time. (and our food is always amazing as well). I have spoken personally to the Chef and our waitress both times were very aware and understanding of her food allergies. It's truly been a life changing experience for our family and we are so thankful to the entire restaurant and staff.

Took my parents to 1754 House for their 65th Anniversary. The food and the service were outstanding. Easy access for those with less mobility, all dishes were a bit unique, with excellent presentation and preparation. Although each of us ordered something different, each meal was prefectly done. Thank you, we will be back again!

All of our food was excellent. Very nice ambiance with the fireplaces going. Server tim was great, very professional and helpful with the menu. Cauliflower au gratin was phenomenal as well as the Brussel sprouts. Gouda mac n cheese with bacon in skillet was excellent, just how mac n cheese should be, perfect consistency. Short rib sandwich was great. Fish and chips was great. Not beer battered, more of a dry batter, and tartar sauce was SO good, coleslaw that came with it was... interesting, not my favorite. Duck fat fries are heavy, a little salty, but also excellent. White chocolate creme brulee had maybe too much sugar on top but was very very good nonetheless. Would definitely return to try more of the menu. Very satisfied. Prices are fair.

Fantastic gluten-free options. The fish and chips was excellent. The head chef brought my meal down personally so that he could ensure I got the right thing.
The older woman at the hostess station was a little rude and condescending but it didn't sour the overall experience
I recently stayed at the old Curtis House now 1754 House. Wonderful place if you need to stay around Woodbury and want to get off the beaten path. Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a complimentary light morning breakfast with coffee and pastry. I was happy to see the oatmeal :) Location is in a historic district, very close to many antique stores. Restaurant is also top notch and they even have a very cool bar in the basement with occasional live blues/jazz bands. Rooms are comfy and have a very rustic feel. Lots of squeaky floor boards, which adds to the charm of the place. The restaurant alone is worth the trek if you want something special. They are all set up for the holidays, and this would be perfect place to take the family for a special holiday dinner. Thank you for making my stay so memorable.

Food and drinks: The food was delicious, we went there for Thanksgiving and wow, even though we had to wait, mind you we made reservations about a month before, however, the party that was in front of us, was enjoying yourself so long it took them time to leave the table that we were assigned. We had a party of nine people, three children included, once we were seated, the mill was wonderful. I would recommend going again, but if you're going to go for a holiday, try to get an earlier reservation in the day.

This was the second year we booked Thanksgiving because the First year was excellent….
Well, this year was the PITS. I booked months in advance, raved about last yr, AND SPECIFICALLY requested a downstairs seating. After the booking they requested that we adjust our time, which I agreed to, but once again specifically requested a downstairs table.
Well we were seated upstairs and while I felt badly for our server, but everything fell apart:
Cara at front had Zero personality checking in:
15 minute wait to be seated
30 minute wait to even be approached about a drink
ANOTHER 30 minutes for drink to be served and to-take our order.
When the first two plates were served, we sent them ALL BACK AS THE WERE COLD… I’m talking ICED COLD.
When we took our first taste the dish was so heavily salted that 3 of the 5 of us ate around the sides , ordered another drink , and waited for desert. Inedible..
3 choices for dessert: apple crisp, some chocolate concoction theyprobably bought on line , and a “pumpkin Goat cheese cheesecake.. “ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 2 crisps and 2 “rolo’s “ were delivered.. the Apple crisp as described by my wife was Frozen Solid. With sawdust on top.
This was , is , will be our 2nd and LAST visit to the 1754 House..
4 adults and a 3 1/2 yr old and-with tip was about $560.00.
Un Forgettable and Un ForGivable.

This place is kind of our local. We're here about once a week. Great staff. Food is good. The menu; specifically the specials, never seems to change. It's not special if it's been on the menu for six months.
I love 1754 House! My mom and I first stumbled upon this place during a cross country roadtrip back when it was still the Curtis House and fell in love with it's Quaintly Haunted vibes. We've come back every year once a year since then. Certainly since becoming 1754 House there have been some lovely upgrades, including the bar, and now it is less spooky and more Warm-and-Cozy. On our most recent trip, we adored our room and the caramel popcorn.
Many of the staff were kind and helpful, but the bartender was a level of mean I haven't experienced since High School. There was a piece of plastic in our soup, but they refunded the price of the soup. Overall, it's a beautiful place filled with good memories and probably some ghosts. Service was lacking this time, but service work is hard, so I get it. We'll keep coming back as long as we live. Which might not be very long if that bartender had his way lol. Kidding.
