Each time they were not able to fill order, food is average compared to other local restaurants. Service is hit or miss, tend to provide better service the larger the party.

My “gang” friends for years loves meeting at City Hall on Friday night. Lots of yummy things to choose from. Best burgers around and the simple salmon is delicious. Friendly waitstaff. Never disappoints.

I come here pretty often for the Thursday night trivia (which also happens to coincide with their "Build Your Own Pasta" night). Cozy neighborhood atmosphere and good comfort food at reasonable prices (Build Your Own Pasta I believe is $12 and includes a salad, and limitless toppings/sauces). The food is good, but the main reason I go is for the trivia. Win or lose, it's definitely the best I've been to in the area, and I've been to alot of different places for trivia. Great mix of questions, perfect length of time, and the emcee Gary is awesome. Definitely recommend! (Thursday's at 7pm!)

Not sure what was going on but nobody in the place except a few at the bar on Sat night at 8:30, no greeting, couldn't find anyone waited a few minutes then left.

The food is really good here!! You need to be patient, food may take a few to get there. Service is hit or miss...depending on who's working.

Great food, causal setting, adult beverages, they offer appetizers, sandwiches to full meals.

Love the food. The trivia night is fun and family friendly! We go every Thursday we can make it.

Brooke was an excellent and personable server! The specials menu was fantastic; food i would usually expect to find at twice the price... And the brownie sundae was to die for! I felt spoiled in this little unassuming pub. Will definitely be back and would absolutely recommend! (I'm told to come on Saturdays for karaoke)

I City Hall!! Great place for a great meal without breaking the bank. Generous portions, polite staff, historical ambiance and you can literally order everything from a cheeseburger to Lobster Newburgh on any given night!! Try the Gordon Burger!

I am becoming a regular and I'll tell you why...the food is outstanding and great value love the pub menu many greats between 10 to 15 bucks. The apps are awesome ! The staff is right on it and happy to serve. I have been spreading the word and bringing friends back each time because I know they won't be disappointed. I personally am pretty tired of the standing room only slamming loud can't even have a conversation popular eateries in Southbury and Oxford that are a half s

It's been over a year since I last reviewed City Hall, and it's time that I give them all the credit they are due. It's more than a pleasure to slip into a seat at the bar and a dry martini there. The staff, primarily Cassidy, Raquel, Tracey, and Christine behind the bar, make every visit enjoyable. They are all friendly and knowledgeable, recognizing customers, knowing their preferences, and serving food and drinks with a smile. The floor staff, Jessica, Brooke, and Ellen, serve double duty, both taking care of tables, and running food to the bar. The quality of the food is the same as upstairs at Curtis House, and there are never problems with food not coming out hot. Granted, there are burps and blips when it gets really busy, but the staff has learned how to deal with customers and make everyone smile instead of making excuses. This is the ultimate customer service experience, and one of the best in the area. Cafe City Hall isn't everyone's cup of tea. The decor is outdated, the acoustics suck, and it's hard to find if you're not familiar with it (go around the back - that's where the entrance is). But those are the factors that give the place its charm. You can't eat decor, and I'll trade off hearing the TV for hot food served promptly with a smile any day.

George Washington Drank here! But time marches on and while the decor is a bit dated, you will not feel stuck in the past or like you are being dragged into the future. Nice small yet comfortable bar with good service and at just after five not a lot of people. I had a sandwich and it was good. While the revolution may have been plotted here, that will not be shoved into your face, this is not a history lesson, it's a colonial tavern and can stand on the tavern part alone.

We love the Cafe...located in the basement of the Curtis Inn (oldest standing Inn in Connecticut). Freshly prepared dishes...HUGE salads and staff is always upbeat and very friendly. Try it out and you won't be disappointed.

We heard great things when we moved to area in summer of 15 about this restaurant. Sadly disappointed by overall experience. Short to point food was poor, service slow, and beer taps basic. I ordered a chicken cob salad and my wife and daughter had meals as well. My wife ordered a drink when we sat down and never got it until my dinner was served her dinner never came so we told them cancel hers. My salad came without chicken when I asked server she told me that was extra....its in the title of the salad!!....when bill came they charged for meal we never had. At that time a manger came over to apologize and I explained our disappointment. She said she was taking over for new staff and had many areas to improve. She took our bill and removed the charge for meal we never got. Sadly disappointed as being new to area we are trying to find a go to family spot. This place has all the makings of a great location just poor food and service.
