Even though the deck had seven tables open you have to eat not so good food to get a table. Was told to sit in a dingy corner inside if I only wanted a drink.

Changed menu recently so a few less things offered. A bit pricey.

15 dollar Margaritas and a Crab Pretzel that just tasted like a pretzel. Was not impressed with the price for the quality

Food and service were very good. We were disappointed with the view on the outside patio it was blocked and shrubbery. It would be great to look out on the water and boats. They need to do some trimming ,or use high top tables. Would be 4 star if you could see the water.

Bartender, service and food were great. However on a Friday night watching the Phillies trying to clench the playoffs the ambience was more geared towards "I'm a depressed teen." Not what I was looking for watching a baseball game.

The management of this establishment appears to be lacking in effective operational practices. As a boat owner at the marina, I have dined here on several occasions and have consistently found the experience unsatisfactory. Recently, a friend traveled from Philadelphia with the intention of fishing and sought a quick meal. Given the restaurant's location at the marina, it seemed like a convenient option. I was arriving from Wilmington and had already purchased a cheesesteak. We convened at Grain, where my friend placed an order for food and we both ordered drinks.

While I was enjoying my meal, the manager approached us in a rather abrupt manner, informing me that outside food was not permitted due to health code regulations. I acknowledged his statement but also mentioned my background in the restaurant industry, asserting that this was not a health code violation. The manager raised his voice, creating a scene on the patio. I expressed my understanding of the policy against outside food but requested that he refrain from misrepresenting health codes. I agreed not to consume my food.

After 15 to 20 minutes, during which I had consumed 2-3 drinks in the heat, I began to feel lightheaded and decided to take a bite of my food to stabilize myself. The manager then approached our table again, insisting that I leave. I agreed to do so once I finished my grapefruit crush. He threatened to call the police, to which I responded that I was fine with that. Despite my repeated statements that I would leave after my drink, he called the bartender for assistance in removing me from the table and forcefully knocked the drink from my hand. I reiterated his decision to involve law enforcement.

At this point, I informed him that I would continue to eat my food. My friend settled the bill, but the manager refused to return his change. His approach to de-escalation was inadequate, and he displayed hostility from the outset, resulting in an unnecessary disturbance. Furthermore, he had the audacity to inform the police that he felt threatened during the incident, despite being the instigator. I will be reaching out to corporate to formally report my experience.

I have to say the weather helped as well, but the server was very friendly, and the food was tasty (was there for breakfast). Only coffee was disappointing. Atmosphere was what I expected from a marina, and it was clean.

Recently I went to Grain and had the worst dining experience and manager interaction ever. Hanna, our server, was nice. We informed her of one one of the appetizer plates being dirty. When we opened the wrapped silverware. There was visible food on the knife. Again we informed Hanna. We ordered cheesesteak egg rolls, margerita flatbread pizza, and crab nachos. The egg rolls were delicious! The pizza had great flavor but was cold in the center. The thing that put us over the edge. There was a long piece of straight brown hair in the nachos. Hanna gave us a choice of remaking the food or comping the check. We asked to speak with a manager. Katie approached us in an aggressive manner. We informed her of the dirty plate/silverware, delicious eggrolls but hair was in the nachos. She barely reacted to that. We received an "Oh, I'm sorry." My friend said "the nachos were ice cold". Katie said I find that hard to believe. She was fixated on the puzza, but not about hair in the food. My friend tried to say it was a figure of speech but Katie was cutting her off. My friend asked are you going to let me speak. Katie replied, "No"! To say we were shocked is an understatement. I have never experienced such disrespectful unprofessionalism from a "manager". She walked off & comped our meal. She gave us a coupon or something which we gave to a young couple because none of us will ever return! I have pictures of the dirty plate/silverware and hair from the food, but I don't see a place to upload pictures.

We came here on boat over Labor Day weekend while staying up the way in Chesapeake City with a group of 4. It was pretty slow, had to get our own table and finally were waited on. Drinks took forever and everything is overpriced. I ordered a specialty cocktail that came in a tiny plastic cup and about $15, another ordered something frozen which took a long time only to be told they couldn't make it and then they could and apologized for the communication mix up with other staff. Our waitress was really kind but clearly the place is just a mess. We ordered truffle parm fries, chicken nachos and the pretzel bites with beer cheese. Didn't see or taste any parm/truffle on the fries, the beer cheese was inedible, and pretzels were stale and the chicken nachos we all stopped eating afraid we might get food poisoning. We were hoping for a nice boat stop but will not be back here again.
