We had really high hopes for 14 global. We are a vegetarian family and can have trouble finding a restaurant with solid vegetarian food, we had hoped 14 global would hit the mark.
Overall the service was good to far, they listened and the food came out quickly.
Food wise, the food was a bite dull and could have used some flavoring and a number of veggies options were over priced for the small amount food you got. We ordered the veggie plate, cheese charcuterie board, peppers and gnocchi. The cheese board was the only one that was worth the hefty price. The veggie pickled plate was expensive and all they gave us was 4 leafs of lettuce, 4 spears of pickles, 4 tiny carrots, along with some sauces, which were very small amounts and not super flavorful. I was pretty disappointed in the pickled veggie plate. The peppers were ok but the sauce and greens that came with them were 3/5 stars at best, no depth of flavor on the sauce and the peppers were cooked a little too much to allow peppers flavor to shine.
Additionally the gnocchi, which looked nice was soft and pillowy but lacked any really flavor. They had a good base to work with but could added additional seasoning to had flavor and round out the taste.
Overall, would not recommend 14 global.
Vegetarian options: Pickled veggie plate is too small and over priced
Gnocchi is flavorless
Peppers are ok but need a lot of work

To set a perspective, my family and I have eaten here many times over the past several years. However when we ate there last week, I experienced something unique and disturbing. I ordered a scotch on the rocks (X2) and for each drink, I was charged an ICE SURCHARGE!!! They charged me EXTRA for the ice which is part of 'scotch on the rocks'. This was absolutely ABSURD!!! When I questioned it, Denis the manager said it's their policy. He took $1 off my bill which was NOT THE POINT. It's ABUSIVE to charge for ice in a drink which is supposed to be served with ice......maybe next time they'll charge me a glass surcharge, or maybe a spoon surcharge. So, despite having a great meal, this petty gouging of customers is annoying and insulting. If you need to cover your increasing costs, raise the price of your drinks, don't nickel and dime customers and annoy by giving them a bill with bogus charges. The exchange at the end of the meal after receiving these abusive and bogus charges ruined what had previously been a lovely evening.
As to the owner's explanation below, thanks for the information, but the bill said it was an ICE surcharge and you manager Denis, when asked about the $1 per drink, not $2 charge simply said it was policy. A more informed explanation would have sufficed. Thanks

This is a great place. Some of the best food on the shore. But it's pricey. Mostly a small plate, tapas like place, many of which are 20 -28 bucks each. Some are exceptional.....the duck sliders....the beets ..the tacos.....so we are meh...the scallops. An excellent cocktail menu.... Worth the visit

14 Global is a gem in the midst of the quaint Bethany Beach seaside pizza and sub shops. My husband and I were in town last weekend and we ate here twice it was so good. The fresh herbs and flavor combinations are delicious and the cocktails are next level!
Curry lamb chops were excellent and we thought the cauliflower dish was amazing, the combination of flavors with raisins and pistachios were a delightful tasty surprise.
We also enjoyed the capriccio with mint as well as the scallop dish. I'd love to remember all of the dishes we had but the website some issues so I can't look back at the menu. It is blocked by most browsers as unsecure so maybe there's an SSL setting that needs to be adjusted. The 14 Global team should take a look to see if they can correct it. This issue could be presently business.

Small space. Okay, overpriced food. To be at the beach I'd rather just go for traditional burgers and fries.

We have enjoyed dining here the last few years while visiting Bethany, and past years were incredible! However this year the menu and food were very disappointing. Overly salty scallops, fishy fish tacos, fatty and flavorless steak. Sad to say we won’t be back :(

I am hoping it was an off night. We ate at 14 Global a few years ago and had a good experience. Tonight was rough though. For those of you who have trouble hearing this is not the spot for you. Trying to communicate with each other and our waiter was not easy due to the volume being a 10/10. The small place is charming but on a Saturday night it was impossible to hear. Our waiter was really kind and did his best. He replaced a drink that was just served and accidentally spilled by someone in the party. It took a really long time to get the apps. The 4 goat cheese balls were tasty but served barely warm. We didn’t send them back because it had taken a long time to get them. The Grilled Caesar is interesting, as it is served deconstructed. It needed more dressing. The croutons were yummy but the lettuce was wilted and not crisp. One main dish came out first right after the appetizers. The other dish was delayed by 10 minutes. When it arrived the shrimp tacos were served ice cold and had a very strong fish smell. We sent them back and our waiter took them off the bill. The winner—the boardwalk style fries. They were served hot, well done and lightly salted. We enjoyed the homemade ketchup. Thanks again to our waiter. Maybe Saturday nights are not the best night to dine here.

Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and his suggestions were great. Good food as well. Cramped seating and a loud atmosphere detracted from the overall experience unfortunately.
