It’s very strange to understand how to book or not…at CoCoLo.
On the phone there was a recording, no matter what time you called: “ We are completely booked from tonight to Saturday but we keep the bar open for seating”. One lucky time a woman answered the phone and told me they take no reservations. Ok, strange they don’t take reservations but are “completely booked” for several days at time…..
5 days ago around 7:00 we went there, they are in walking distance from my house, and only 2 people were at the bar so we got seated there right away. Great sushi!
Last night at around 7:30 we went again.
4 people were outside with drinks, waiting. Inside there was 1 empty table already set, 1 booth being cleaned (obviously for the party outside) and only 2 people sitting at the bar, where are 8 seats. But no way she would let us have Sushi!
She said the bar is not first come first serve anymore, now 5 days later, is to be like a “table”: So, help me out here: if this place takes no reservations and only a party of 4 is waiting, why not sitting the 2 of us??? The woman at reception acts like she is doing you a great favor to let you eat there.
I swear this is so weird and even if it is very good sushi my husband said he will not go back.
We are not stupid and frankly we were sort of offended by her cold ways and no logical explanation when I pointed out that there were seats available (IF is true that she takes no reservations).
Very frustrating and disappointing because we like to walk to Off the Hook or De Febo or CocoLo and we are here off season!
But we are done with CocoLo Sushi.

It seems like they don’t want business. They wouldn’t take our takeout order saying they got too busy with customers. However, there were multiple to-go bags being handed out upon arrival. Misaki got our business instead - great sushi!

I was skeptical when I heard this place has some of the best sushi on the East Coast, but I was pleasantly surprised to encounter some of the freshest ingredients and expert preparation I encountered in Hawaii and Vegas. Very high quality taste and craftsmanship. I appreciate there's no competition with takeout orders, but get a reservation ahead of time.

Hands down the best sushi in Southern DE. You probably won’t find better sushi for 100 miles. I’ve been here two times, and each time is amazing. The fish is always very fresh, and everything is expertly and lovingly crafted. A work of art. CoCoLo is awesome!

They only serve parties of 1-3 people. No seating for more than 3 people, as of our visit in August 2025. Interesting business model.

The best sushi ever. My husband loves gyoza and he said it’s the best he’s ever had. Unbelievably fresh. So yummy. Fair prices, great service.

This is a must stop every time we are in Bethany. We love the sushi and the staff are outstanding.

The sushi and quality are amazing. The family who runs the location care about what they put out and how they treat their customers. Best shushi in that state.

Wow! Saturday evening we walked in around 7:30 pm, we had a party of 5. Told they couldn’t seat us because they were waiting on a large party. The restaurant was half empty. Like maybe turn off your open sign and place a closed sign on the door? Very hard to find parking and we had my elderly mom who has trouble walking with us. We won’t be back.

A very special Japanese restaurant. Wait staff is impeccable. The daily specials will blow you away.

Tried Scottish Ocean Trout here for the first time. It was phenomenal

Amazing sushi. The fish is sooo fresh. The rolls aren't too big. Its by far the best sushi at the beach (frankly better than anything in Baltimore) and is on par w/ sushi in NYC or LA. The nightly specials are fantastic. My only gripe is that I wish they allowed take out, and put some of the specials on their regular menu.
