Mickey's Family Crab House

The food was pretty good, but service and the atmosphere seriously lacking. We spent a hundred and forty seven dollars ($147) and on top of that, a thirty dollar tip for 3 people.That's for 1 dozen crabs for two, and a fish sandwich, plus a crab dip appetizer. We also had three beers at six dollars apiece, and an unsweetened iced tea. I doubt I would ever come back here again. The parking is kind of tight as well. Please note I ate the fish sandwich and it was excellent.

Crab was ok, meaty but a lil dry, had 2 crabs mushy, probably dead days before they steamed . Service was good, can’t complain

The best part of the meal was the corn on the cob - but it was really great corn. The service was fine.

Otherwise, pretty rough. Flys all over the place inside, the soda tasted off (like the lines may need to be cleaned), the crab cake was basically just a fried lump of runny crab dip, the fries were cold, and the shrimp somewhat rubbery. Also tried the wings…$18 for what was basically frozen Tyson chicken wings thrown into a fryer till they just hit the safe temperature to serve.

If you’re staying at the Hotel Bethany, you’re going to get a 10% discount and it’s in the same parking lot. This sounds like a great idea, but it may not be. YMMV.

The crabs and peeled shrimp were delicious. Our waitress Lexi was fantastic she kept our drinks full and was always making sure we had crabs and shrimp.

The all you can crabs were either overcooked or reheated. They were dry, light had almost no seasoning. Several crabs smelled bad, one reeked of ammonia and was clearly rotten. Waitress had a bad attitude and was less than helpful. Definitely not worth what we paid.
UPDATE: AUGUST 29, 2025: we decided to give this place another shot because last year the AUCE crabs were exceptional. The second time was not a charm. Light crabs that were dry and appeared old or reheated. They were disgusting. Will NEVER go back again.

we actually didn't come for the crabs. 🙃 we love crab, but didn't want to pick. I had the grilled mahi special and my husband had the portobello mushrooms burger and oysters to start. we also shared the boom boom shrimp. The french fries that came with both meals might have been the best I've ever had. hand cut, skin on and CRISPY. We used a gift card I'd bought for your black Friday deal - hope you do that again!

Every year we come to this place for the crab, it's amazing! But this time was a disappointment. We were a group of 8, we all ordered one plate and three of us ate an all you can eat. When we asked for more chicken and corn, the waitress sent us a piece of chicken and corn. When we were three people, we literally had to beg for our food! The service was horrible, however, we paid the bill and left a 20% tip! We will never return to this place again.

Great place to pick crabs. All you can eat includes shrimp, corn, hush puppies, and fried chicken. The fried chicken is awesome! Amazing atmosphere and great service!
