Had been to Via Sophia's several times. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing this time. The salmon seemed undercooked. We later found out that is was the last day the restaurant would be open as Via Sophia.

We had a reservation for 8:15, we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We were staying in the hotel and the restaurant was down stairs. We were seated by the hostess and asked what type of water we wanted to drink, I said bottle. As time passed no one came by. A little while later the hostess came back, still no water, and asked had our server come by yet, which I replied no. We sat a little longer and finally decided to leave. We ended up having our meal at Five Guys.

Very short staffed the night that 3 of us went for dinner. Drinks came out 15 minutes after we ordered and we had to tell them the ingredients for one of our cocktails. Food order came out wrong and while they fixed it—they gave us 5 full entrees when we ordered 3, it was on our bill. Make sure to check your bill.

Loved everything about our dinner at Via Sophia by the Sea. 8 adults and 3 children. We had 5 different entrees, 2 appetizers, 2 types of desserts and everything was delicious!

The place has so much potential but the food was poorly executed when we dined there over Labor Day weekend. The menu has great ideas. Several dishes were over salted. Gnocchi was mushy. Too bad - this spot classiest looking place on the boardwalk and has lovely outdoor seating. The cocktails were great!

Fantastic meal. Fried mozzarella with marinara. Spring Mixed green salad Crispy rock fish with beet puree Seared salmon with brushless sprouts and mustard cremo Tirimasu Every bite was amazing. We loved every part of our meal including great service too.

This was our first visit. We arrived just before 5:00 and were seated and offered HH prices for cocktails as we awaited the opening of the kitchen at 5. First impression was great- oceanfront, great Old Fashioned, blue cheese olives, good tasting bread and warmed olive oil/vinegar. Unfortunately the actual meal disappointed. Crab cakes good but no cocktail sauce available. Out of ribeye so sub was NY Strip- not a good substitution. Both scallops with pea risotto and short rib gnocchi were swimming in green olive oil. Much too greasy- tried to eat off the top. Two each had a 1/2 salad which disappointed the advertised pickled veges and vinaigrette caused one to choke on the acidity. Will probably not return. Also slightly disconcerting to have hotel guests come off the beach and through the outside dining area into hotel/restaurant. Perhaps a separate entrance would be better during dining hours.

It is a dining facility where hotel guests can walk through the area coming off the beach. The food and service were good. I would probably wait until the off season to come here again.

Great way to celebrate my son's 25th birthday. Macy was our server and she was friendly, personable and knowledgeable about the menu. The grilled calamari was perfection. The Rockfush entree was incredible. The drinks were masterpieces. The lobster bucatini fell short with hardly any lobster but the homemade pasta had the best taste and texture. The cheesecake dessert was very good, although my son wanted tiramisu. Unfortunately that was sold out. The sausage Flatbread was good, but I'd skip next time. We dined al fresco and it was beautiful weather.

Food overall was very good. Shrimp capetella outstanding. Fennel sausage flatbread was great. Gnocchi and short rib was okay. Scallops over risotto excellent. Caesar salad and meatballs good. Servers were stretched too thin- pleasant, but not great service. Plates were not cleared between courses, nor as meals were completed. Not enough employees. Windows looking out onto beach and patio looked dirty and streaky- not washed properly which took away from ambiance- maybe a small detail but gave an bad impression.

Our server was not good. We saw other servers around us and they were back and forth from their tables. We saw our server twice. Our glass of wine was stale and when I asked for a new wine, I never received until we asked again at the end. The entrees were not great, they were just average. Overall, an average experience.

Lovely outside table- view of the boardwalk, not too noisy or distracting & ocean breeze was nice. Cocktail was tasty, beautifully adorned! Caprese salad lackluster, brisket gnocchi was delicious, salmon as well. Server was attentive and proactively comp'd the salad- appreciated that! Didn't realize it was part of a Marriott hotel.

My chicken Marsala was not as described. Instead of being a chicken thigh it was a tough dry chicken breast. The dish had no flavor. My caprese salad was good but had a little too much balsamic. For the price the dinner was very disappointing.

Service was ok, but the meals/pricing is way off. I am fine with spending money for a good meal, but how the heck are the kid and adult portions the same for spaghetti yet the prices are different. Kids $12 vs $18 for adults. Same plate/bowl. Nothing great for the cost.
