Quite possibly the worst chocolate ice cream I have ever had. The ice cream starts at $8 for a good sized portion.
The salted caramel was ok, but we had to throw away 3/4 of the chocolate. I don't even know what to compare it to? The store brand chocolate ice cream that's been freezer burnt for months?
My wife wouldn't let me embarrass the staff by asking for a refund, so here is the review.

Best ice cream in the area by far. Great selection, toppings galore, and most importantly great tasting ice cream. If you're an ice cream lover staying or living in Dewey beach, this is your stop.

My husband and I went to Vanderwendes on 4th of July. It was super busy the line went really quick. So when it was time to order we had to see who this person was. His name was Trever he’s amazing and keeps the line moving fast. I got the berry cheesecake it was amazing!! And they serve big scoops yum.
The outdoor patio is well-designed and comfortable.
The meal ended on a sweet note.
The atmosphere is perfect for both casual and business meals.
Staff checked back at the right times.
