Pretty good spot. I work down the street at Tigon golf carts so I sometimes stop by. Food is good and the staff is awesome.

I grew up in Delaware eating Grottos. I moved out of state and visited periodically. Couple of things...who in their right mind makes a caprese salad without balsamic? But the biggest thing of all...your large pizzas have gone up on price and are about HALF the size of what they used to be. $22 for a margherita pizza thats practically the size of a personal size pizza. Not to mention, you can tell the Margherita pizza is made from brushetta mix which makes the dough saturated and shouldn't be called a Margherita pizza. White Bianco is made with garlic...but they dont have fresh garlic for it or on the pizza, it's onions instead. I understand each restaurant can have its own variations but everywhere you look, Margherita and Bianco pizzas are definitely not made the way theyre made at Grottos. But the size of the pizzas for the price you charge, is outrageous. From now on when I visit that's definitely going to be a place thats no longer on my list.

After years of visiting Dover, I made it over. We had a half buffalo, half meat pizza. DELISH! The crust is crispy yet soft. Holds the toppings well with a god chew, and a delicious crunch. Not sure the flavoring they use at the end of the crust, but, I loved it! We also ordered the fried zucchini and broccoli bites. The zucchini was delicious. Not overdone at all. The sauce had a delicious sweet marinara flavor. The broccoli bites were good, just made with a little too much veleveeta cheese for our personal taste.
The best part, our waitress. Meg was fun and attentive. We could tell she really enjoyed her job, and we had fun enjoying it with her.
After years of hearing the joke of “Grosso” pizza. I can tell ya, nothing was “gross” about this place.

Went from the absolute best place to be on a Friday night to the absolute worst, thanks to the recently hired general manager. He is a very cruel and unfair man and favors customers of his choosing over others. Staff seem wonderful, but beware. You can go there for years and come think of them as friends, then one day they are suddenly throwing you out the door- so sad. I blame the general manager. I had been a customer for years and spent (wasted) thousands. I wish I had that money back!

Pizza is one of those foods that is regional. I grew up in Trenton, NJ. Where it's called Tomato Pie. Cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. Grotto's makes it the way I like it. If I had to complain about anything, it's the lack of herbs on the pie. No hint of Oregano or Basil. They use fresh sausage, and it cooks on the pie. Love the thin crispy crust. Could be a little more done, but it's good. I will continue to go there.
The service was fast, I got half Italian sub and salad.

We Typically make a pit stop here on our way to the beach. The kids love the pizza so its a good stop. We don't usually have any issues but, our service this time around was extremely bad. Our entire order did not come out. We waited for our waitress to come back to the table to let her know, but she never returned. We had to walk up to the front and let another worked know about it. We then noticed our waitress was showing pictures on her phone to another table for 10 minutes or so. The next time we were able to speak to our waitress, it was to ask for the check since we completed our meal before she could ask if we needed anything. Disappointed in the service but the food is still good.

Made a last minute decision to stop here and their pizza. It was really good my only complaint would be is that the crust could be a little thicker on a regular pizza- but that is my personal preference. The service was fast and our server, Cliff, was attentive and literally the kindest server I have ever had!! You can tell he genuinely cares for people and isn't just trying to get a bigger tip. The restaurant was clean as well which is ALWAYS a must. I will definitely be back in the future!
