On 11/24/2025, my co-worker (boss) and I stopped to get lunch at this establishment. We walked in to have lunch and we wait for 20 minutes. The staff members even the owner of the restaurant completely ignored us and kept talking amongst themselves. Mind you, they just opened not even an hour and they still did not have customers nor did they acknowledge they had some because they were too busy talking about their personal lives on the clock. I used to go to this place when I was young, but after the current display recently, I will not recommend anyone to come here. Customers service goes a long way regardless if your “authentic food” is good or not. Horrible customer service and horrible work ethic. Be happy, I wasn’t someone who works for the state department that controls restaurant licenses.
I’d answer the other questions, but like I said, we didn’t get any SERVICE!

The Delmar Fajitas are amazing!!
We had a great experience at La Tonalteca in Dover! My father and my wife both had the fajitas, and they were flavorful and cooked just right. I ordered the chilaquiles and tortilla soup—absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. The service was also excellent—friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Mexican food in the area!

Excellent Mexican buffet, I always look for real and traditional flavors.
Amazing sopa de mariscos, you can find carnitas, chicken and beef fajitas, flautas, tortillas, frijoles refritos, you can make your own tacos 🌮, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, mango mojito 👌🏻, delicious ice cream and the best churros I’ve try in a long time.
The only thing i don’t like from Mexican places in is the music…Tigres del Norte or Banda is not for me, other than that, I enjoyed my food so much that I didn’t have time to take more pictures.

I do not recommend going to eat at the buffet since it is not really a buffet, they just put the food there and the food is cold, they do not change it, we went to eat because my husband wanted to try if it is a buffet but what a disappointment we got and we did not like it really just to try it is the first time we come to this place we have heard that they serve a buffet, but not a buffet no, no, we would not return because the food is not fresh, it is food that they put out all day and it gets cold and that is not a buffet. They should put the food fresh and more often and also have variety, not just some golden tacos and cold beans and rice and not even tortillas were there the food was not good I really do not recommend the buffet

My boyfriend ordered chimichangas beef and chicken. He said the beef meat wasn’t seasoned too well and Too much crema. I had fish tacos and they were good but fish wasn’t seasoned. We also had to order rice and beans because the plates didn’t include it. In CA the dishes include rice and beans. The salsa taste like too much tomato. Queso was kind of salty. Overall the atmosphere was very nice inside! The decor and Mexican art is beautiful! And it was nice and cool inside.

Beautiful building. Menu partially Spanish. Waitress couldn’t tell you what it said. Service so bad table of 8 left because they were ignored. Don’t think food was fresh. Have no clue about dietary restrictions. First time in 60 years I sent my dinner back and didn’t eat a meal. Others felt food they got wasn’t fresh.
Don’t know how they stay in business
