I hadn’t been here in years and when I came back then it was exclusively to drink. So recently was one of my first times actually eating at the Lobby House. Instead of going to our same favorite places all the time we have been trying out some new places and places we haven’t been forever and this night I actually chose. So I feel like this nightmare is all my doing!! First of all our service was terrible. It had to be our servers first day. If not she needed to be fired. She knew nothing about the menu , the food, the drinks, I mean nothing. Our food took forever and there was maybe 12 people in the entire establishment. And when we received it it was incorrect but we ate it anyways because our sever was MIA. I actually couldn’t find an employee anywhere. So finally when she resurfaced we were done with our incorrect food and good thing because when we brought it to her attention she stared like a deer in headlights and said nothing. Absolutely no expression or sound. So after our awkward silence we asked for the check and NO boxes because the food was bad enough the first time, no round 2 for us. And after what felt like forever she came with it and it was incorrect(big surprise) so after fixing we gave her our credit card and waited and waited and waited for her to come back. We were so patient but after about 15 min I went and found the bartender and told her the deal and she returned with our card and check to sign. Appearantly our server was “smoking or busy or just missing” were her exact words, I mean it was a little late (maybe 1030 at this time) so maybe that’s why it sucked. I don’t know but it was BAD and I definitely will NOT be returning and I will tell anyone who asks me about this place to not waste their time or money here. Sorry!I wanted to like it so much too.

Southwest cheesesteak with flaked desiccated meat, out-of-a-bottle barbecue sauce, fries that were extremely dry (last week’s stuck back in the fryer?), coleslaw lacking in dressing tasting old (not fresh—maybe last week’s as well and the dressing was at the bottom of the vat?). Their stout beer was vinegary sour (gave me a replacement). Very disappointing. I won’t be back.

Excellent food, well served at a fair price. Pleasant atmosphere, attentive and friendly wait-staff , one of Dovers best.

It wasn't till I lived here a year that I found out it was also a restaurant. At night others pretty packed with the local college students. Cheap drinks and locals makes this a place worth visiting.

Nice place, nice food, nice view, nice selection of beers. Nothing too exciting, but nothing turning me off. I was surprised at how few people were in there for dinner (maybe because it had been raining hard for the past 2 days?), but it seemed like it could be a lot of fun on a Friday night. I had a mozzarella, tomato, and roasted red pepper sandwich that was tasty, if a bit too oily for my liking. The fries were really good. Everyone else at the table seemed pretty happy, too. All in all I will probably not think much about this place once I leave Dover, but if I lived here it might be my favorite restaurant in town. They got the bar-restaurant thing down, and that's totally respectable, if not totally original. Oh, and if you're into sports, they have a whole bunch of TVs, all showing different games, so you can probably watch whatever you want here.
