I really want to like the Crownery. It's close to home, the people are nice and the orders are ready 10 minutes after you call. However, the food is bland. I ask for EXTRA spicy to try to get some flavor. Most of the beef and chicken dishes are tasteless and I've had many, many menu items. The Vietnamese Beef is good but is's $20 for takeout. Delaware has a lack of good Chinese takeout places. Edit: new owners as 2023. Worse now

I honestly cannot understand how this place has good ratings.At best it was bland and greasy and some of what i ordered was inedible. Overall I would say that this was the worst chinese meal I have ever had, and it was expensive even with a 20% coupon. Most of what I ordered went in the trash. Everything ordered lacked flavor, and some of it was disgusting. The egg roll completely lacked flavor and was greasy, it was edible but that is all. The steamed dumpling wrapper was great, nice and thin and well cooked, but the filling and the sauce had no flavor. The sesame chicken was awful, the breading was thick and mushy and the sauce was watery, there was no broccoli just a bed of onions. It was inedible. The lo mein was OK but again had no flavor and tasted greasy. I also tried the wonton soup and the broth had no flavor nor did the wontons.

The worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. The sesame and vegetable Mai Fun had 0 flavor. Egg drop soup tasted like rotten eggs. The wontons in chili oil were fried, not steamed and seemed to be in the wrong sauce. General tsao chicken's texture was very soft. I ended up only eating the wontons and egg roll after ordering $50+ dollars in takeout.

Took the family out last night for dinner. Food was amazing and the service was first class. Have been a customer for years. The new owner I think is doing a wonderful job. The portions are huge. Always left overs for the following day. Will continue to do business I hope for years to come, thank you.

I’ve been a customer for over 15 years, and the previous owners were outstanding! I would go at least 2 to 3 times a month. Period I’m sad to see all the big changes. Very unhappy. 19.00 for chicken & mushrooms is insane. I wish them the best but they lost my business due to their new portions & pricing

I don’t like posting bad reviews but. Please take notice the new wording ,they call it the “new “Crownery. The quality of the food is “not “good. The atmosphere is very dull I guess years ago when the news journal and the department of health hit this place that was the end of a great Chinese restaurant in this area .you can go and try it. I wouldn’t suggest it. I got the generals chicken it was dry. The sauce was not good. The broccoli was subpar $18.50 not worth the money I guess when they sold this place to the new owners they sold all of the prior accolades of this place when it was good,they should all been torn off the wall and thrown away because this is NOT the original Crownery,and they the new company do not deserve any of those awards that are on the wall … false advertising !!! so be where people this is not our original Crownery that place is long gone.

The hot and sour soup was so good we ordered more to take home. Beautiful atmosphere and the people who work here are so friendly. We will absolutely be returning.

I ordered chicken and broccoli and got plain, steamed chicken and broccoli. I’ve never ordered this dish before and not gotten a brown sauce with it. Who wants plain chicken and broccoli?
