New Dragon Chinese Restaurant

Food is good, have come here multiple times. Unless you request not to; they’ll call you multiple times if you’re not there the second it’s in the box. Today I stopped by and got yelled at by their Teenage Cashier for their keypad not working correctly. Could look past the multiple calls, but this type of “Service” is unacceptable

This restaurant used to have dine-in seating, but no longer. The tables are all used for storage. So it's a little dumpy looking when you enter. It's now pretty much just take-out. So that's how I'm judging it. As far as the food goes, it's decent for a take-out place. It's not a gourmet restaurant, but that's OK. Sometimes you just want some basic noodles or fried rice, and this place does that well. Prices are reasonable and flavors are good. This is an authentic Chinese place, unlike some other places around here that pose as Chinese food.

New Dragon is our go to for Chinese food. They are consistent and the food tastes great.

Amazing food at a good price. There are tables to eat in, but this is 90% take out.

Excellent Quality & Value
If you're looking for excellent Chinese food to go at a good value then this is the place. There are slightly (only slightly) cheaper places in the neighborhood, but not at the same quality level. The service is quick and friendly. I've visited many times over the years and the ownership has not changed. The orange chicken and the steamed dumplings are especially recommended.

Always fast, delicious, clean and tastes great. NEVER a complaint!! Out of Town guests are always IMPRESSED!!

Vegetarian options: Lots of Vegetables, Fish, Shellfish offerings… including soup, appetizers and entrees.

Dietary restrictions: Our family is on Keto, Weight Watchers, Gluten-Free and Regular Diets. Everyone can find delicious food…. And it’s ALL delicious!!

New Dragon is takeout only since the COVID era. Their food is the best in the Hockessin area. It's the only place that will make the food as spicy as I want. Other places dumb it down because most don't like really spicy food as we do. New Dragon is worth the trip up the hill.
