Our server Madi was outstanding. The food was amazing! We had the seared octopus and it melted in your mouth with a delicious sauce to complement.
Another absolutely outstanding meal prepared by Chef William and team. We have eaten here many times, but the latest Rockfish is to die for. Get there before it's gone!
Wine list while not vast, selection was good and prices reasonable. Presentation and taste of food was excellent.
Always a treat to dine at William and Merry. It never disappoints as the staff is always so friendly and inviting. It starts with the greeting at the door and ends with the exit following the meal. The service is excellent and the food top notch. Not only the taste but the presentation is lovely. The lighting is cozy and the seating comfortable. We will continue to support William and Merry as long as they are in business. And I hope that is a long time!
Yet another delicious meal and excellent hospitality at The House of William & Merry! This is a go-to special occasion restaurant. The menu is ever-changing so it's hard to recommend our dishes, though the Korean-fried quail appetizer was OUTSTANDING and worth a permanent place on the menu! We love the chef's creativity and the entire staff vibe. Another great night here!
We enjoyed the meal- food was well prepared. Service very good. Rather loud and a bit pricey.
Memorable. Creative and filling the food was exceptional as was service & overall experience. You cannot go wrong unless you don't want to spend a lot of money. It is expensive but worth it if you enjoy good food and a dining experience.
Very nice restaurant, great food but small portions especially considering the prices. Great staff and service.
Always amazing. The way They Keep the menu changed up is fun. They always do some flavors that make you go Umm what , just Like smoked grapes and so many more..
If Delaware was part of the Michelin rating system, The House of William and Merry would receive at least 2 stars! The menu is seasonal and smartly crafted. The execution of each dish is perfect. The cocktails were excellent and the service was exemplary. It Is expensive but worth every dollar. If you are a discerning foodie, you must try this experience.

The BEST cocktails I have ever had. The patio seating in the summer is second to none. A nice view of the park and the main Hockessin area. My first time here I ordered traditionally “manly” drinks. An old fashioned, a Manhattan, etc. I braced myself to grimace and pretend I’m tough…I never had to fake it. The liquor is smooth. The service is great. Somehow even the food is great to savor. It creates the perfect comfortable environment here.
The food was fantastic. Javier was very accommodating and paced the meal well without rushing us. He had fantastic suggestions and was SO attentive and honestly a pleasant person to be around. He left the kind of experience that would make me want to request him when we come back, and we will definitely be back!
Food is always very good and interesting. Value wise it is more special occasion unfortunately. My main negative is the wine pours seem very small. Still great for foodie and group experience
This is probably one of the best restaurants in our area. The menu selections are creative, quality fresh ingredients mostly sourced locally. Everything was outstanding, including the service. Our server seemed to anticipate our needs and was attentive to every detail. The desserts were incredible. The browned sugar cheesecake was delicious as well as beautiful to look at. This quality of restaurant is what your would find in bigger cities. We are lucky to have it in our neighborhood for special fine dining experience.
Stunning presentation and flavors! Plus, so many tiny touches to each dish, including some of my favorite foraged delicacies! #iykyk
