My husband and I went for dinner and will be back soon. Excellent service, wonderful atmosphere. From start to finish the starters, entrées, and desserts were delicious. The drinks were well balanced and beautifully made, from the cocktails to the espresso with perfect crema. Very much looking forward to future visits!

John was an absolutely spectacular server. The entire experience from start to finish was wonderful - from the greeting, to seating, to the expertly balanced cocktails, to the seasonal appetizers, main course, and of course dessert. It's obvious that the chef and manager entered this business with a desire to please, and they succeed on every front. The staff are courteous and attentive, the food was absolutely unreal. Words really can't do it justice, so pick your favorite reason to eat a good meal and use it to come eat here.

We have been meaning to come here for years and finally scored a Saturday night dinner reservation. Incredible from start to finish. The food is so thoughtfully prepared with flavors complimenting each other perfectly. We love that the menu is seasonal so we can plan try new things often. Our server was kind, funny, and attentive. Honestly a top dining experience beyond even just Delaware. Rivals or tops every NY and Philly restaurant we’ve dined in. Cannot wait to come back!

Portions are small but you aren't going there for a buffet. We had scallops, octopus, sablefish and a burger. The evening ended with an amazing chocolate dessert. When I say amazing. It is just that. Spoil yourself.

Reservation took us promptly. Waitress very attentive. Mushroom soup delish. Tuna appetizer also fabulous. Sablefish was good. Sturgen special also good. Peanut Butter desert also very good. Not many choices of entres. Lots of duck dishes, which i hate.

Recommended by a friend, this was our first visit to celebrate our anniversary. The food is excellent. The dishes are cooked properly, seasoning and sauces are delightful, and the presentation is beautiful. We had the PEI mussels and the octopus for appetizers followed by the buffalo and sturgeon for entrees. Dessert was the pear and cheesecake which was not too sweet and has a beautiful presentation. . We had a New Zealand Marlboro sauvignon blanc wine throughout. The wait staff was attentive but not obtrusive. Our waiter, John, kept the wine cool in between pours. Used plates and silverware were removed from the table promptly and new plates and silverware supplied as needed all without asking. The service is what you would expect at a fine dining establishment and is all to often missing in today's world. W E W I L L R E T U R N !!

Excellent presentation and preparation of food. Top shelf service , Chet and rest of staff. Chet was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive yet unobtrusive. Overall experience was superb!

I've been coming here for about 10 years now and will continue coming here. The menu changes with each season, the food is ALWAYS cooked to perfection, delicious and melts in your mouth. The presentation of food is simply extravagant and drinks are always on point! The staff are kind, quick and know the menu. I've never had a bad experience here. Make a reservation today, you won't regret it, trust me!

Wonderful local restaurant! My husband and I love to go to The House of William and Merry to celebrate our birthdays and anniversary. The menu selection and food are top notch. Also the cocktails are out of this world. Wait staff is always very kind and knowledgeable.

We had a great meal at The House of William and Merry, every dish was exquisite. The Foie Gras appetizer with the Duck Breast main corse was a particular highlight. Great wine list, including some selections from their own family vineyard in California.

Inspired menu, the pinnacle of quality ingredients. Chef Bill and Merry have a unique and wonderful place. We love to sit at the bar as we like the company and banter with the staff and Bartender. The menu is always changing, but what is consistent is the uniqueness and quality. You always leave feeling nourished and taken care of. Made with Love... The perfect pear cocktail is my wife's favorite and I like the wine list. If you are looking for basic or plain, then this is not for you, but if you want invention and artful cooking, then run and make your reservation!

Though big fans, we had not been back to The House of William & Merry since before the pandemic. We were very much looking forward to our meal. We left disappointed, however. Our mussels appetizer was pretty tasteless, and while our entrees were good, they didn't compensate for the inauspicious start of our dinner. Definitely a bummer. We are chalking it up to an aberration.

I don't live in the area but my daughter does. I am always happy to leave NYC to come to Kennett Square because I get to go to this restaurant. Really one of the best anywhere. Food, that is quality, inventive presentation, choices, pairings, it is all fabulous. The owners and the staff are kind, welcoming and helpful. All in all, every time, it is a memorable and wonderful experience to dine at The House of William & Merry. Bravo.
