OMG, everything was superb about this restaurant, the service was excellent and the food was beyond delicious. This is what I consider real southern food. I would highly recommend it and I will definitely be back for Supper. Get the Lucille sausage and gravy!!!!!!!👍🏾♥️
The food here was delicious and authentic to Southern style food. We shared debris fries as a starter, and my entree was shrimp and grits. I had a difficult time deciding what to get as all the dishes looked good. Everything we ordered was excellent! The atmosphere was awesome and was old wood and brick style from something you'd expect in the 1800s. The service was excellent as well. The waitress was attentive, friendly, and helpful regarding knowledge of the dishes and drinks. I plan on returning again to try more of their dishes!
The service is excellent here! Most of the food is very good. I get the deviled eggs every time! The cornbread is SWEET and I LOVE it. Some of the seating (large seating area) needs to be updated.
Whoever made this place took a lot of time planning an experience for diners. From the decor, to the dishes, the food and the very responsive wait staff - everything was well done.
My friends loved the wings, even with the sauce on the side, shrimp and grits and the catfish. Salmon was good too, next time we'll try with sauce on side as well. Since I'm a vegetarian and didn't want a salad I just had the sweet potatoes which were delicious! And of course we had to try the beignets with a glaze which were melt in your mouth delicious.
I would love to see chefs take on a veggie burger so non meat eating diners could experience more of this wonderful new eatery.
Entrance is around back, the front does not scream look at me and eat here .
From out of town and stumbled upon 1861through a quick google search. Easily one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at, and I have traveled around the world! Food, service, atmosphere were all on point. You will not regret eating here and I plan on stopping by next time I am in the area (dying to try one of your cocktails!). Thank you for a great meal!
My husband and I found ourselves here to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised! We echo the reviews that state the food and drinks were on point. The decor aligns with the theme of the restaurant and our server was very accommodating and attentive. They gave us free champagne to celebrate as well. We highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back soon!
The food was great. Creative drinks. Wonderful service. The atmosphere was amazing.
Mojo chicken and the shrimp grits was to die for. Smooth music! Felt like I was in New Orleans .
Absolutely loved it. Best what's mother's Day meal.
I consider this restaurant a hidden gem, that is not so hidden. The service was 5 star!!! Thank you Olivia!! The food was second to none!!! Hats off to the chefs!! We met the owner, and she is a caring, and considerate owner. Down to earth!! The atmosphere was great, live music. I had the Basin short ribs and grits, that is now my new favorite! My Gorgeous wife had the chicken and waffles, to much to eat at one time. If you don't know , now you know!!!

First time, but definitely not our last!
I came here a few times and the food was good don’t drink alcohol but my BAR FLY AUNT sure does. Man she comes here a lot. Between here and sullys she can put some alcohol down the hatch. Biggest bar fly I have ever met. No fly swatter is big enough to swat her out. They have a really cool dining room as well.
The drinks are really good. Staff was very nice. We sat at the bar. Loved the brunch old fashion'd
I give this place 5 stars! Everything was great. Food, service and drinks! I plan to return soon!
