Went there about 3x. 3rd time is the last for me. The servers need to be trained better. Long and untamed hair should not be flying around in customers food. Hair net? Hands should not be touching the mouths of the cups and glasses especially if u going to have an attitude when a straw is asked for. Pay attention to what a customer orders and do not bring the wrong menu item. STAY OFF PHONES, ESPECIALLY IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. Be mindful of conversations.

I took my 7-year-old son there two weekends ago just to have a father and son one-on-one breakfast. I figured I'd choose IHOP because I've been living in Middletown for 5 years now in hadn't eaten at this location once, so I'd been wanting to try it for myself.
I entered the establishment with my son, and we were greeted and seated into a booth immediately. After that was when things went bad for me.
After we were seated. My son and I sat there and waited for 20 minutes. A few service people walked by our booth several times, and not a single person bothered to acknowledge us. Not to greet, not to ask if what we wanted anything to drink, not to give us a menu, nothing. Yet I saw customers across from our booth being serviced.
After waiting patiently for 20 minutes, my son and I left. First impressions are everything, and this was a horrible one. I will not be attempting to eat there again.
I will stick with Bob Evans. I've never had these issues eating there.

This ruined it for me! The tomatoes were rotten, I spit one out, the fresh fruit wasn't fresh (except one cut up strawberry and 3 pieces of orange) the melon was almost see through, and I left part of my food uneaten!!
There were 2 people in there besides my family, and we never even were asked if we wanted refills, until we were leaving.
We will NEVER go back, I honestly don't even know how they are open!!
Too add to this great experience as soon as you walk out the door someone vomited, so that was there!! I didn't take a photo of that!

I went for the first time with some friends on 8/27/25 in the morning at 9am. There was one server present when we arrived, and looked like someone in training, and another seever showed up a little after. There was several other people who arrived at the about the same time as we did. We were all seated. One person came after we were all seated. The server we had , put the new server who showed up on the table with the one individual.
Our server needed to be asked 3 times on many occasions for various things. I asked her 3 times for lemon for my water, twice before she even brought it and she still forgot. The same happened with the cream for my coffee. And she didn't split the check like she said she would do at the end. Our food was brought out Individually. We had a child with us who ordered Pancakes with Bananas and strawberries. She got her food first among us and it didn't have the Bananas and strawberries. The server brought it back and it took almost 10 min to receive it back again. Me and my friend ordered the same thing and it came out separately. I got mine first, and it didn't have the salsa it came with, And the side of hashbrowns came out a few minutes later. My friends all experienced the same thing and the table in front of us was all getting there food one at a time and with gaps in time
It was a terrible experience as someone who had waited tables before and loves to serve people. I will definitly not be returning to this establishment again nor will bring anyone to it. It's just reality

My husband and I had the sweetest waitress absolute angel. She was attentive, friendly, and when I had a problem with my burger she made sure it was immediately handled and comped it. The manager was also extremely kind checking on every table to make sure everything was good. Food was amazing, customer service was amazing, very clean. You don’t get great service like this often anymore! We ended up leaving an almost 100% tip for the waitress because we were so impressed.

I love the House Faves and I want to put in a good word for the IHOP in Middletown Delaware. The store is always clean, the staff friendly, the manager is terrific. One of the best. They're great people.
