Yum yum yum!!! Food was absolutely amazing!! First time patronizing this establishment. Dining area was clean. Counter was clean. Kitchen area looked clean and well kept. The gentleman that took my order was very pleasant. He answered all my questions. Helped me decide what to get. I went with curry goat, rice and peas, steamed cabbage, side of mac and cheese which was very very good and a big deal for me because not everyone can make mac and cheese to my liking, and a side of jerk chicken with extra sauce on the side. Platter was very healthy enabling us to have two meals. Could not decide what to eat that day and I'm very happy I chose to order from here. Would frequent again and definitely recommend.

The food was delicious, the restaurant is very clean, but a little bit pricey. You are able to see the cooks in the back cooking your food which I am all for. What I did not like was the host in the front who wears the glasses. I made the mistake of walking through the restaurant instead of the side hallway to make an order. Again my mistake, it was my first time picking up my food and I was a little confused with the setup of the restaurant. The host gave me a glare with her glasses sitting on the bridge of her nose but didn’t say anything. When I finally arrived to the counter I heard her talking about me to two other customers/friends as they too gawked at me. Naturally I said something. I thought the encounter was unprofessional. As I am waiting to order she is holding a personal conversation with the same two customers for about 5 minutes who have already ordered before she realizes I want to order. After I finally order and am waiting for my food to be prepared, I realized this is the same host who worked at Curry & Spice and always seemed to lose or confuse orders. I enjoyed the food and hope if I do choose to come back I won’t be treated this way. Yes, best believe I now know to walk to the left of the restaurant to make an order and/or pickup takeout.

I so wanted to love this place because I enjoy Caribbean food. I grew up with Jamaican parents, therefore I was so excited to go this place. First the atmosphere was kinda kin to lunch table style of dining, chairs a tables seemed a bit outdated. The wait staff had an attitude, not smiling nor warm or welcoming ,and kept referring to the time she was getting off and kept reminding me they was about to close in a hour. They had a DJ playing loud music with zero people in the restaurant. The food also took very long to come out an I was the only one there. Way over priced for chicken an rice basically. Cooking staff can be seen from the register and they seem to cross contaminate, a lot of touching without hand washing multiple food items along with doors knobs cash register broom money cell phone etc and then say your food is ready. The food taste was not bad but also not good, bland to some degree, it taste like Jamaican food lacking flavor and seasoning of Caribbean food. Just because chicken is spicy doesn’t make it jerk chicken. For the price you would think it’s going to at least taste good. The waitress asked me do I need change, my bill was 118 I paid two hundred dollar bills, that would have left her 82 dollar tip that she just asked for basically. I don’t mind tipping but allow me to decide what I want to tip and plus I don’t owe a person anything for there career choice, if she would not have said that I would have left the 82 dollars. This place could be great but it’s clearly lacking superior oversight. As a consumer I don’t like feeling like a business is trying to give me anything just to get my hard earned money. Ruth Chris steak house is fine dining and there Mac and cheese for two people is 15 dollars. This place is 7.25 for a serving for one person. This place average priced chicken dinner is 23.00, that is more than any of the nearby restaurants that sell a better tasting chicken. I’ll hard pass on this place for sure.

Had a wonderful time with my husband, listening to Caribbean jazz, soca, and reggae while the live steelpan band played. The food is always delicious, and the combination of the atmosphere, good food, and great customer service makes this place not only a favorite in Middletown, but an all-time favorite.

Brought my wife here and Had a terrific time on Saturday. the band was there and did an excellent performance. The food and drinks were terrific and overall gave me a slight feel of being at a resort in Jamaica. I would suggest an appetizer that is local to your homeland from the region ofJamaican that you came from
Such as a local style bread or fruit or drink such as Appleton rum while customers are waiting for their food. Thanks and I look forward to continued patronage

We had the delicious jerk chicken platter with a double side of fried plantains atop beans and rice, and the fantastic brown stew chicken platter with fried plantains, green beans, and beans and rice. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the food, and honestly overate a little because it was so flavorful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was chill in the dining area and festive in the adjacent but separate space because it was karaoke night. Although we didn't participate, a few employees welcomed us to experience it. Service is one thing that stood out about all of the staff - we engaged with four different employees from server to GM - and every were genuinely warm and caring. We felt like we got a wonderful "taste" of Jamaican culture, too!

Sorry to tell you, this is not Jamaican cuisine at all. I was highly disappointed at the food I received today for the price I paid. I got jerk wings platter with Mac n cheese, rice & peas and cabbage; and a curry chicken with Mac and cheese, rice & peas and cabbage. The only thing that was good was the chicken; curry was yummy, jerked chicken wings was just fried chicken with sauce; did not taste like jerk at all. I also got a beef Pattie and the meat inside was non existent literally. I spent around $46 dollars for disappointment. The Mac n cheese had NO flavor, was soggy at the bottom, not cheesy at all. Rice and peas had no flavor by no means and the cabbage again no flavor. Would not recommend this restaurant for the price of the meals and the poor food quality. Huge disappointment, respectfully.
