Just because 99% of your diners give you rave review doesn't mean you can rest on your laurels. My dinner of real turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, bread and salad was terribly disappointing. The presentation was just so unappealing. There was this huge glob of yellow thick liquid which I guessed was the gravy. I should have refused the dish on that alone. The turkey was real turkey (they do a large business in club sandwiches). But in my plate hidden under the yellow glob was just bits and pieces of the turkey. The mashed potatoes had no taste. Little containers of cranberry sauce and the entire dish was so very disappointing. On a positive note, the canned corn was delicious. This is a diner and the place was full of happy diners. So many items to choose from as all diners have. So I decided on this dish because I like roasted turkey. This was only my third time here. I ate here prior to Covid and had the most delicious veal parmesan, as delicious as any Italian restaurant and left a rave review. When we were leaving one of the owners at the register asked how everything was and he was surprised to hear that I was not impressed with the gravy. He looked stunned to get a negative comment on the food. You have to stay on top of things. Not everyone is going to be happy with their choice. He was afraid to ask my friend how her meal was...too bad, because she loved hers.

No wait for a table, was very open despite being prime lunch time. Atmosphere of a nice family diner. Staff was super friendly, but seriously slow. Food was pretty good, especially the fries, which I wasn’t planning eat many but they were so good! Coleslaw, BLT, and chicken salad were great too.

Our family had breakfast here Saturday, July 5th, and it was the best breakfast we had on our vacation. We don’t have scrapple where we live, so I was very excited to finally be able to have it again and Middletown Diner did not disappoint. :) My French toast was also delicious. My husband and brother both had traditional eggs/meat/potatoes/toast combos, and my mom ordered the chipped beef, another hard-to-find item where we live. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast and prices were shockingly low given the huge portion sizes. Our server was very friendly and attentive and we had zero issues. Highly recommend for a no-fuss, inexpensive, filling and great tasting breakfast.
