I was very disappointed with the crab soup! I didn’t like the crab pretzel either. Very bland to say the least. Crabby Dick’s is my favorite for crab soup 🦀

Food was overpriced for what was presented and service was fair. Flounder app overcooked. Shrimp not deveined or seasoned like we asked. We had to ask multiple times for things.

This is a great place to eat. The food is delicious. We plan our trips to Delaware to include Medings seafood each time we visit. Highly recommend the cream of crab soup.

Finally got a chance to try out Meding’s for the first time in years. Prices are quite reasonable ($58/doz crabs!) and food is generally good, though you have to hunt a bit for non-fried foods. Crab cakes have little filler but also don’t use blue crab and are seasoned only so-so I’d say. New outdoor seating is a nice touch and they have fans to deter flies. Happy hour specials 4-7P Wed-Fri had $4 drafts and $9 dozen medium steamed shrimp. Road noise a bit loud but it is what it is for such a convenient location. Unfortunately the service was the worst we’ve had in years - rude, unhelpful (dropped salad on the table outside reach, forgot our shrimp order, gave check then asked if we wanted dessert and told us he didn’t know the desserts and to go inside and see what they were ourselves??). Overall that won’t deter us from going back but hope overall experience is better next time.

We had a great lunch at Meding's. After trying another place close by that didn't allow dogs at their outdoor area, we were welcomed to Meding's outdoor seating with our pup.
The service was great and very inviting. The food was also spot on for soup, salad, and a crab melt. It was our first visit after passing by many times and we look forward to returning.

Our server Brandon was very nice and professional and pleasant and offered us great choices on the menu. We got to meet the owner she was very pleasant and thanked us for coming out. And the food was brought to us hot and fresh and Brandon did not forget about us that was very nice of him.

I went to have a quick lunch on 08-27-2024. That didn’t happen.
I had to wait while an employee finished his ranting about democrats, immigrants and other misinforming information. Designate yourself as a Qanon establishment or keep quiet- no one wants to hear that BS while dining.
I had to order my iced tea twice. It took over 15 minutes to get that.
I ordered a cup of clam chowder. It took another 15-20 minutes to get that. There were only 8 tables inside and outside with patrons, so NOT busy. Perhaps less BS talk in the back and more attention to the patrons would be appreciated.
The soup was a SALT LICK! I believe white-tail deer would consider it too salty.
Keep your politics to yourself, or put up a sign that you are a right-winged fringe Republicans. I am not a liberal, but felt the political ranting was too far and angry.
I won’t go back because the food was horrible, service was lazy and inconsiderate.
Cup of soup and an iced tea cost $14, with tip $17. Not worth it.
Before management responds with, “you should have informed us”, I did. The server was informed and did nothing.

Always try to stop at Medings on our way home from Rehoboth Beach. Pick up a dozen steamed crabs, some clams and we’ve got dinner all ready for when we get home. Friendly crew there and great crabs. Also have good deals on canned crab that is locally sourced and NOT pasteurized so you get all the flavor of fresh picked crab. Just have to use it soon or it goes bad. Worth it!
