Food was good enough, but getting a cup of salad instead of French fries was $2.50 upcharge and it was not tasty. Also changing from a bun to a wrap was another $2.50 upcharge? I could buy 10 tortillas for that at the local store. A cup of soup for a kid was $7, which is also horrible pricing. While it was great to not have to eat at a chain or fast food while in the area, the price gouging turned us off. We likely won’t be back.

The ambiance is very nice, and service is good. We have gone there for breakfast a few times. The menu and atmosphere indicate a more upscale option than your usual diner. However, I find that I prefer ordering a basic fried eggs platter, rather than their more involved menu selections. A few things have been less than ideal. When you look at their menu, they list their coffee prices, based on the size you get. Then they offer coffee at a reduced price if you bring your own cup. Having read the menu online, we brought our own cups. When we got to the restaurant, we were told that the reduced price only applied to takeout orders, and we were denied the discount. It would have left a better impression if they had honored the discount just the one time after explaining the policy and acknowledging that it wasn't explained on the menu. I ordered orange juice, which was served in a plastic cup, filled to the top with ice, and what tasted more like an orange drink. It tasted good as an orange drink, but when I order a glass of orange juice for breakfast, I don't expect to have it over ice, and I would like it to be a good quality orange juice, not orange drink. Another strange thing was that barely any salt came out of the salt shaker. I had to take the shaker top off and pour a little into my hand so that I could sprinkle it over my eggs. When I did that, I realized that it contained coarse salt in a shaker with fine holes. Now I understand cost saving measures, but when they impact the enjoyment of the meal as described above, when given the choice, I will most likely seek out other places for my meals out.

Over the years I have dined at the backyard and taken others with me. It's always been a delightful experience; five stars for sure. Recently, I brought 2 new people to the backyard for breakfast and everything was A la carte. It cost about $75.00 for breakfast. When 2 of my friends and I east breakfast one a week at Westside in Milford it cost me $10.00 + 3.00 tip so 3 of us may be $39.00. Big price difference!!! Unfortunately, I will choose another place instead of The Backyard.

What an adorable restaurant! It is so tastefully decorated and very welcoming. We started with the whipped feta dip, which we decided to add to our sandwiches, so delicious. I had the Garden Box sandwich with their homemade pickle & hummus-highly recommend. Overall a great lunch!

Cute little spot! Food was really good. The pesto bagel was great. Loved the crispy Parmesan on the bagel. Had the cinnamon oat latte as well that was very good. The staff was very friendly.

Tried a new spot that friends recommended. Wow! The service was awesome. The food was fresh and portioned perfect. The price was fare. The place was clean and bright. As you may see in photos, I completely finished my plate. It really was that good. The best bisquit I've ever had, the sausage gravy was delicious too! The potatoes are really good too. My friend had blueberry pancakes. They were as big as the plate and plenty of blueberries. We may have found a new fav. place for breakfast!

Good place for breakfast - nice coffee choices too. Wait staff is friendly. The "to go" bakery choices are very good too. We're "semi-regulars" here and this restaurant has been consistent in its quality. Of note - every single time we go here with our grandkids - the kids menu items always arrive after the adult meals - sometimes a number of minutes later - just surprising the kitchen doesn't recognize this as a "need to improve"! We also wish they would reopen for dinner service again!

I ordered a simple omelet that was not made as described on the menu, was overcooked and served lukewarm with bland home fries. We always say it's hard to mess up breakfast food but the Backyard did it anyway!
