This vegetarian had her first “steak” in over 30 years! It’s off menu and cost who-knows what, but very tasty, with a meaty chew. Maybe more like Jack-fruit pulled pork. But a treat, and such a big serving I had leftovers the next day. Super fun staff, and silly posh atmosphere. Pricey but worth it.
Have always loved this spot for its charm and ambience. Have also always had fabulous food. This meal was a little lacking. To begin, a small point maybe, but while serving bread with seasoned butter is a nice touch, the butter was so soft as to almost be spoiled - quite off putting to myself and guest. We both ordered a chef's special of curry shrimp which was pretty bland. Lacked much flavor although cooked properly. the shrimp were well prepared and the rice tasted ok,...
With just two servers that we could see, they managed beautifully, and were very attentive. Have been going there over 20 years, could use a refresh on the decor/tables/chairs, otherwise no issues!
